OS FS 40 question
I'm trying to get my older FS 40 apart, and can't seem to get the wrist pin to come out of the piston/rod. Am I missing something? I've got the liner out and can't seem to budge the wrist pin. Every other engine I've done you could get the piston/ rod out by removing the liner. This one has a hole where the pin goes by about 1/4 up from bdc, so I must assume the pin comes out before the piston comes off. Is it just heat and pull, or does someone know something I don't.
Thanks,
Martin

RE: OS FS 40 question
On all the engines that I have done the piston and rod come out together after removing the liner or sleeve. Once a crankshaft slipped back slightly. It took about an hour to notice the crank had moved towards the rear. Reseated the crankshaft to the front and everything worked as expected.

Hello,
you are right, the pin comes out before the piston on that engine. Try to heat the piston and force the pin to come out with a round piece of wood.
Good luck,
