Shimming the head on a Webra Speed .91
Asking all the Webra experts.
I have a Webra Speed .91 that is still new in the box, but was bought years ago when they first became available in the US.
The instruction booklet advises 0% to 5% nitro fuel, which I would like to avoid.
I usually run Cool Power with 20 percent oil and 20 percent nitro and have about 4 cases. This is used with my .30 to .61 size 2 stroke engines and my Saito 4 strokes.
What I need to know is - What size (thickness) shim do I need under the head in order to use my fuel? [sm=confused.gif] (I'm getting it ready for to go in a CG Ultimate)
I just pulled the head and there is no gasket or shim there from the factory.
Also - Is there a ready made shim that can be bought for this engine, or does one have to make their own?
Many thanks for your replies.
Ramon

Actually Ramon you would like the way a Webra runs on 5% nitro, nice and sewing machine smooth. Is your .91 ABN or ringed? If ringed it will be a while getting a good ring seal, if Dykes ringed or ABN it will run great from the first flip. Just be sure to not get it lean or hot with the Dykes ring.

Hi!
?????Why not run just 5% nitro when the engine only demands that amount!!
All Webra engines are soooo sweat running engines on 0-5% nitro.
Regards!

It takes at least .015" to tell any difference. For 20/20 I would go .030".

You could call Horizon Hobby and ask one of their propeller heads. They probably even have a shim already made just for the application.
