Saito 100 Manifold/Muffler Options
Currently building a Seagull Edge 60. Going to install a Saito 100 inverted. I need to make modifications to the exhaust to keep from butchering the cowl. The stock exhaust manifold is about 2 inches long with a 15 degree bend, and leaves the muffler in a bad position relative to the cowl.
Does anyone know if a shorter manifold exists (with greater bend) and the part number and supplier?
A flex header with pressure tap is also an option if anyone knows a supplier. (Part Number)
I believe the manifold threads are 12mm if anyone knows a method for fabricating an exhaust.
Thanks for any advise.

RE: Saito 100 Manifold/Muffler Options
I saw a setup a guy used on an RCV motor where he used the header coupled with the piece shown in the below link to direct the muffler directly under his fuselage. Think it was on a giant scale warbird but should work. Just have to get the right thread..

They do have other ones on there that was just the first one I found. I know what you mean about finding iner-changable threads though. Either too big or too small. lol

RE: Saito 100 Manifold/Muffler Options
Well, the diameters are the same for some engines but OS is .75mm between threads and the Saito is 1.0mm between threads or something like that.
Except for the 30 and 40 saitos and OS 30 which have a 9mm diameter X .75mm thread pitch.
The OS 40 & 52 are 10mm X .75
The OS 91 is 11mm diameter whereas the Saito 91/100 are 12mm diameter

You could check with Kelvin at Keleo Creations
http://www.keleo-creations.com I have one of his headers on a P51, great craftsmanship and always gets attention at the field when the smoke is coming out of both sides of the 12 pack.

RE: Saito 100 Manifold/Muffler Options
There are other options for the Saito 100 installed inverted. RC Specialties makes a header/muffler that needs very little room. You can bring it straight out the bottom or rotate it back and route a flex tube out the bottom at the back of the cowl. Less than 1" room is all that is needed.
