Need "MANUAL" for ENYA R120 4C
Hi everyone,
I hope sombody can help me out, I bought a used ENYA R120 4C, at least I think it is, how do you tell them apart from a regular 120 4C ?
If sombody has a manual for a R120 4C I'm looking for the parts diagram with the part numbers, I would really apreciate it if somone could scan the manual and send it to me in a .pdf file
This engine seems to be in excellent shape, turns over really smooth and has a lot of compression.
Thanks
Ulf

Yes, It has been around but I don't know how old it is but it is in good shape, I knew the owner he had two of them.....
I'm going to use it in my Goldberg Extra 300.
Thanks for looking, I really apreciate it....

I found a copy of the R120 manual which I can .pdf to you tomorrow.
There is also an original copy of the standard 120 manual if you have any interest in that.
My 120R was evil as far as having too much compression and throwing props from what I remember.
That was 16 years ago, but I do remember.
The standard 120 seemed to be a little better.
I also had a prop drill jig made which I still have.
Talk to you tomorrow.

Run 5% nitro and you shouldn't have a problem with the 1.20R. Mine ran fine on 5%.
The only thing that I didn't like about the engine was the way the exhaust pipe fastened to the cylinder head. I like the OS and Saito methods better. Much better.

I'll look, I think I have a manuel for both. You can always call MRC/Altech since I believe they still are servicing Enya engines.
I had no problems tossing props with up to 10% fuel, however it got finickey on warm days, during verticals it would knock and ping.
I ended up making a head shim out of a beer can and now use 15% or 20% and it runs better than it ever did.

RE: Need "MANUAL" for ENYA R120 4C
bob_nj,
Bob, please send me a copy of both if you can, here is my e mail address ulfenatorAThotmail.com
What is the difference between the regular 120 4C and the R120 4C, is there an easy way to determine which is what by looking at my engine?
Thanks again...
Ulf

Ed Cregger,
Thanks for the information about using 5% fuel, I will keep this in mind, I normally use 10% Cool Power in my air planes but I will give it a try...
Fuelman,
I was reading some of the older posts about MRC/Altech and I got the feeling they are pretty well done with ENYA and their spare parts, maybe I'm wrong....
Thanks

RE: Need "MANUAL" for ENYA R120 4C
I just sent both manuals to the address listed above.
If the files are too big for you Inbox, let me know and I'll figure something else out.
I also posted the Enya prop drill jig in the marketplace if you want to take a look.
Take care
Bob

Take, I got this R1.20 in early February, the R1.20 has a pump on the back end of the crankshaft. I bought some WildCat 5% with 18% 80/20 lube. It's not completely broken in yet.

Enya made both the R120 and the R120 GP (gear pump). If your exhaust manifold bolts on to the engine head it's an R120. If it screws into the head it's a standard 120.

Hi!
The R version has a black rocker box and dull silver coloured air intake tube, slightly curved .
The earlier version has silver rocker box and chromed air intake tube, staight with only a 90 degree bend at the top..

I sent you a PM with my email address. I bought a used Enya 120-4c at a swap meet for $25.00. Would you be so kind as to send me a copy of the 120-4c manual. The regular version.

You sure got a great deal on that engine. I wish I could run across something like that now and then. Good for you.
