I am pretty sure they are close though. Same s--- different pile. I heard the machines were sent to China, so it is just different operators. We had people from every country you could think of at work. It is likely just a few thou. one way or the other on less important parts. The bore is pretty important though, more than anything.

Have a new ST 3250 that I have broken in per some of the post I have read --well about 1.5 Gls fuel.
On eng. stand with ST carb and OS-F plug I think it will be fine in the air--but also know how it can change once it has a load on it.
I have a scratch built big bird that I am going to try it on, I will weight it tomorrow and post results here. But for now this is my main question--which props should I try and which you think work best. Due to weight of plane my priority is power just to get her up and flying level. Thanks for any reply.

My ST 51 ,is the older italian version ( so am i )
It runs real strong on 15% Morgan Omega (Castor and syn blend )
I do think the K& B 1 L long - with an idle bar ,is what makes the combo work (plug is medium heat range ,and used in all my glo engines for 25 years )
I do not change the plug or fuel ,and use it in All my glo engines ,for my own convienience( no confusion)
Regarding the ST 3250 ,you SB running the ST fuel that Morgan makes just for the larger glo engines ( has less oil in it , more oil can snuff out the glo plug ,on the big glo engines )
You must run the larger fuel line and tank fittings ,from the clunk to the carb , to supply the amount of fuel you will need ,to not be running lean
I have heard that there was an issue with the linner going bad in some of the 3250s ,but that may be the early ones made ,not sure

The OS 7D carb , works really great in the large STS ,and is one of OSs very best carbs ( the stock carb on the OS 1.08 two cycle glo engine )
Not easy to find these days
The ASP carb for the 61 to 1.08 ,works as well
( same size ) but will not have the longevity of the OS carb
Wore out one ASP carb on my 75 ASP , after many hundreds of flights on that engine
I do all my own engine repair forever and show very very little wear on all my engine internals ,using the Morgan Omega fuel for 20'years
I showed a lot of wear ,the first few years i flew ,using Morgans full syn fuel
Castor oil ,is the glo engines ,protector and life saver
In theory ,a glo engine should Never be run , lean and hot , for its entire life
If you have any reason to think the engine is to warm or hot ,just tap the head with your hand
If hotter than it normally is ,examine any place air may be getting into the engine
The sooner you correct the issue ,the better it is for the engines longevity
Castor oil will cling to the the engines internal metals when the temps go up ,and has a higher flash point than syn by 100 degrees ,so more protection at higher temps ,and you do need that

Provided the guide groove in the carb barrel is straight and not the flawed "dog-leg" shape, the ST carburetor is very very good. You may get more power from the OS carb if the choke area is larger, but the ST carbs work very well most of the time.
According to Hobby Services, you can use 10-12% oil in the big Tigres provided it's all castor oil and only after break-in. To break in, they recommend more oil IIRC.
The K&B 1L glow plug is a hot plug too, FWIW. Close to or slightly hotter than the OS F glow plug as I understand.

I just ordered a Super Tigre G-90 for a custom airboat build. I'm looking for an air cleaner I can use while I'm running the airboat on grass. Does anyone have one that they could recommend?

About the only one that might fit the aircraft carburetor is made by Bru-Line and I don't believe they're around anymore. FWIW, I don't use an air cleaner on my airboats usually. I have some bru-line filters, but they don't fit most Carburetors.

Probably, but if there is dust or loose dirt or small children in the area, just get some 1/4 inch thick air conditioner foam sheet from Home Depot or Walmart, double it over if you want, and secure some over the carb intake with a rubber band. If you are really concerned, rub some oil into the foam to make it more sticky to the dirt. Not pretty, but should do the job. Good luck.

Wasn't aware that ST ever made a four stroke. I have a ST 3000. Once you figure out how to back flip start it and that it likes low oil, nice engine. Perhaps a bit mild in the ponies.

That's intriguing - looks like they converted the S3000 with a different head and add-on cam box in the rear. I have a feeling it didn't take off (no pun intended) given the timeframe. 4-strokes weren't very powerful or all that common back then. Interesting engine nonetheless...

It seriously looks like they took an S3000 2-stroke and added a cambox off the back, changed the head, and kept the rotary valve/crankcase induction and added the intake tube from the crankcase to the head. I wonder if this is a kind of primitive supercharging sorta similar (but not as aesthetically pleasing) to the YS system...? I looked all over the Internet and turned up nothing on the engine. Been looking since the post about it came up...
