It pulls off. It's stuck on a collet. To pull it would be ideal. But you can hole saw a block of wood that your rear bearing will fit snug in. Buy a 14/28 nut. Install the nut flush on the end of the crankshaft. Tap it lightly with a hammer. Or you can press it out. But be careful not to bust the ears off the front case.

Heat is your friend in taking the assembly apart. The absolute best penetrating lube is a 50/50 blend of Dexron ATF and Acetone.
