Default OS Wankel

Hello, I am new to this forum, I think fast and my grammer is usualy poor- bear with me. Anyways I have an OS wankel engine- the first generation with cooling ring and intake on teh rotor plate. I recently purchased a rotor housing for an unknown wankel engine and i am looking for help in ID. For the sake of clairity i will provide pictures of the rotor housings side by side.

BTW as you can see I had my engine apart many times, and everytime I put it back together it has mucho compression. I have not ran it yet but I am confient taht it has the three things an engine needs- gas. spark, and compression

Can't tell by the pics, but the original O.S. Wankel engine had only the exhaust port in the main rotor housing, and the intake was forward on the front cover. The later version had both the intake and exhaust ports in the main rotor housing, and both were side-by-side on the engine.

The two are not inter-changable.

the one on the right is the rotor housing i was curios about- it has the intake port cast into the housing yet it never was machined. This leads me to belive it is a front intake engine. I'm curious as to the reason the port was cast into the housing.

I now belive that there were 3 versions of the os wankel- the first had side intake with cooling ring, the second with a slightly differrnt housing, and a slightly diffent thickness with side intake. and the third is the os I 49 with peripheral intake and exaust.
