Are you happy with the header length and pipe dimensions on that engine? What are you using? What rpm range are you operating it in? Is it in a standard DF installation or are you running a prop on it? It seems that you are getting a lot of detonation at your normal operating rpm, based on the plug destruction going on.

It is a standard DF set up. Airframe is a Grumman Panther. I am unsure of what the pipe is. The engine does not seem to be pre-igniting although I am not experienced with DF set ups.

Hi!
Use a cold plug like the Rossi 6 or 7 (8 is the coldest).
In F3D pylon racing we used the coldest Rossi plug (Rossi 8) before the Nelson plug came about in 1991.
