RE: Saito 90 Twin: Anybody Running One
Wow, that's awesome power, matching that of a single cylinder 91 4-stroke. I was afraid I wasn't gonna get enough power with the twin for the Seawind.
I can't figure out your setup from the plumbing though. Do you mind explaining what hooks up to where? Are you using a pump? If so, is that why it's so powerful?

Looking at the picture and following the lines, it has a line coming off the muffler pressure tap through a check valve to the vent line in the tank. Along the way there is a tee and a fuel dot for venting when refueling,
The clunk line goes to a Saito filter and then to a Cline demand regulator at the carburetor. There's a third pink line in the tank cp for fuel fill with a fuel dot. That's it.
Nothing else is special.
He had some S&W low viscosity fuel around there at one time. Maybe that's what he was running?

Sean and Jim, I finally found my original post, a correction is in order.
Saito-TS .90 twin
Prop Bolly 13.5x6
Fuel PowerMaster 15%/18% 80/20 blend
Plugs-Enya #3s
RPM==1,0300 but sags after about 5 seconds, what's on the Tach is 2 clicks rich of peak and constant.
Sorry about that.

Mine is good for 9700 rpm peak on 10% Byron and a APC 14X6. Needs a Cline regulator for aerobatics or it would drop a cylinder. The regulator weighs a lot less than on-board glow.

Have one in a GP 81" Cub on floats. I use a MA 13 x 6 prop with 30% nitro, get about 10,000 rpm. Took forever to get completely broken in (my other Saito twin was the same way), but now runs smooth as silk and VERY consistant - need that with a float plane! The one I have is the older version with the twin needle valves. Little harder than the 60 twin to get adjusted, but now I only adjust the needles about a click or two at the most, once or twice a year going from summer to winter. Love those twins!

Could I alleviate such problem by running double muffler pressure?

The older 90 doesn't have the power of the new 90TS.
I was running exhaust pressure. I ended up unbrazing the flex muffler ends and adding 4" of brass tube to extend the exhaust and then added the ends back.
