Default Who is flying a Saito 1.70 radial?

I am trying to find a good model for my Saito 1.70 triple cylinder radial. ARF would probably be preferred, just to get flying something with this engine.

What are you powering with your Saito 1.70 radial?

What are you considering as candidate ARF aircraft? TIA

The video going around, of the 1.70 on a test stand, by "MidMadn". You know that one? Well, he installed that engine in a Goldberg Sukhoi:

I use it on a biplane (own design) span 180 cm weight 9 kg. An in board glow driver is (for me) necessary.

Wow - I bet that Sukhoi has a fair old sting in its tail with that engine.

I like your biplane, Querjac. That is different, has personality and looks like it would be fun to fly. Thanks for the pics.

What do you guys think of an CGM Ultimate Bipe ARF with a radial engine? No cowl, or a round one if one at all. I was going to put my Magnum opposed twin on it. Still might. Don't know if this model would balance with the triple on the nose. Not sure I could get it to balance with the twin, without adding tail weight.

I hope he has someone videotape some flights of that combo. I'm a biplane fan, but I also like monoplanes.

Havent flown it yet, but mine is in the 1/5 Pica Waco. I started this 2 1/2 years ago & with 2 jobs, & home repairs, its been pretty slow. I hope to fly it this spring. I have about a gallon through the engine so far. On board glow will be used so I wont have to worry about a 2 or 1 cylinder go around on a landing attempt. Total weight so far is going to be around 14 lbs. I hope the picture comes out. I have never posted a pic before, so if I did it right, it should be here.

Ed,

I have two of them. They are the smoothest running engines I own.

One is in a Kangke Monocoupe, 96" span, 16.5 lbs
The other is in a Kangke Waco, 72" span, 15 lbs
