Hi, may I ask how did you get the ground clearance for the 15 inch prop?

Thanks, Glenn.

Once again,

This is a .29-.40 plane.

The [link=http://sigmfg.com/cgi-bin/dpsmart.exe/ProductsV5.html?L+Sig+mvuh5392+_Ddp_5fSearch1_02a0 1RCSigKadetSenior_01Search_02Index_01SubMenu_02Non e_01Menu_02CatProd_01Thumb_02Kits_20_2d_20Trainers _01]Kadet[/link] doesn't fly nicely with too strong an engine.

You can underpower the Senior ARF and it will eventually get off of the ground and fly okay. They fly very scale like when underpowered.

ORIGINAL: whatwheel

Just read an old post about a kadet senior with a .91 4 stroke for power, I got a older sig kit from a sale and the only small engine I have is a older enya 40 ss. that Idont think is going to hack it.

The next smallest I have is a .91 4 stroke, how are the guys with the .91 s. using the 14,15 low pitch props and still have ground clearance? I have a trike. gear. Thanks for any help.

Glenn.

My RJL/HP .49VT rotary drum four-stroke engine flew the kit built Kadet Senior with ease. I'm willing to bet that your Enya .40SS will pull a big prop at a higher rpm than my .49VT. In the end, that's all that matters.

I've never seen one with a prop bigger than 12". They just used more pitch with the big engines.

I've seen more Kadet Seniors with 61 size 2 stroke engines than any other size. Beside the one with the 35 FP, a guy at another field had one with a Saito 80. It was real nice power wise.

If you don't want so much pitch, how about a 3 or 4 blade prop to get some ground clearance?

That's a good idea about the additional blades on the prop

when you here someone say "They fly very (scale) like" this means you are running at the bottom end of the power spectum to me . i like to know i have enough "pull out power" to save my plane if i get in trouble...dont you?

I've got some tall gear on the plane so the 15 inch blade has plenty of clearance. I think that the OS .91 4-stroke with this prop is THE BEST combination for this plane. My opinion, but, I feel that it does fly very nicely Dar. Not arguing, just saying that it is probably one of the BEST flying planes I've got. I did modify the wing for a little more wing surface but not much. Weight has never been an issue.
