Default OS 200 adjustments, and review

I have a new OS 200 with a Hangar 9 P51 size 1.50

So far Im not too impressed with the power.
Im running an 18x8 propeller
To adjust the motor and have the maximum power is when the needle is in the fully closed position (which is not normal)
When in this position it flies the plane scale , no problem, loops can be large and fastest speed is ok for the P51.
Idle is perfect, starting easy.
I was just specting more power.

What I like: The motor is inverted and the idle is just perfect, starts super easy, the easist motor I have ever had to start.

Power: The adjustment is not right , because if I have to close the needle all the way to get the best power , the adjustment has to be off for sure.
What do I need to do to have a proper adjustment ?, so I can have maximum power at 1 or 1 and a half turns out like normal?
Maybe then I can get more power out of this motor.

Now the way it works now (with fully closed needle) is very good, enough scale power, good idle and easy start, what Im afraid is one day the motor will just quit in the air if I leave it like this.
But Im afraid too if I start turning screws and low end needles and then screw up the nice idle and easy of start.

Any advice is welcomed

If the engine runs with the needle turned all the way in, then the needle seat in the carburetor body has been damaged. If you remove the needle, you'll see a shiny ring around the pointy part of the needle. This indicates that the needle has been turned in and tightened at some point and not just gently turned in until it stops. Also, if it's a bit loose and you have a long extension on it, then vibration can cause the needle to move around and do the same thing. Bottom line? You need a new carburetor body and needle.

I have looked and doesnt have the shinny ring (I know what you mean)
Also is not loose.
The motor is brand new, just 7 tanks of fuel ran thru it.

In worst case I just leave it like it is now, because it works very well.

Maybe someone slipped you a shorter needle valve. I did this by mistake one time and drove myself crazy trying to tune the engine.

I would say that your needle assemble is shot at for sure.
One other thing is that I'd guess that this engine is deliberately down tuned to make the EFI version seem to be worth the extra money.
Sure it'll be more powerfull, but not 3 times as powerfull.

motoadve; I had exactly the same situation with my OS 91 Surpass with Pump. It was brand new like yours and would continue to run at wide open throttle even when the high speed needle was fully closed. I posted my question to Bax on the OS Engine Support and after taking his advise, I ordered a brand new needle/needle holder assembly and installed it since that was cheaper than the carb to try first. That fixed it up. When I close the needle completely, the motor won't run which is how it's suppose to be. The only thing that I can think of is many times customers will want to look at a motor, they take them out of the box and move the throttle lever, turn the mixture screw etc. Sometimes people turn the screw until it stops and then they may continue to turn the screw until it flatens out the carb needle seat so the pointed part of the needle doesn't fully contact the seat all the way around. They put the motor back into the box and look at something else in the store! Get the picture, I know it's not right but I'm just reminding you that even though it's new it doesn't mean that someone hasn't had it out of the box to look at!! Just thought I'd share my story with you, Ace9.

Is it still under warranty? If it is, send it in and get it fixed.

The O.S. warranty is for two years from the date of original purchase and covers defects in parts and workmanship of the original manufacture. Just send it to us. Return instructions are at the top of the O.S. Engines Support forum here, on RCU.
