Default HB 21 carb question`

Hello; I recently acquired a new-ish HB 21 on a plane I bought. it has a black carb that seems to be missing a screw from the top. It looks like it is the screw that holds the throttle block from fallong out, even though I can't get the throttle block to come out. What I need to know is; is that screw crucial to the carbs operation?

Another question; What kind of muffler should this engine have, or does it come with a muffler at all?

I suppose I could enclose pictures if it would help.

Hello; Here you go then; Sorry about the busy background.

I still can't seem to figure out how to take close up pictures with my camera. It looks to me that the missing screw is the idle set.

Perry carburetor

I cannot remember on the Perry? I was thinking the screw is a idle position adjuster.

To get the barrel out you have to take the snap ring off the other side?

I don't have any any more

You engine will need a strap on muffler. You can get one from Davis Diesel Development

The big picture is not your fault. There was a bug in the program at the time you posted. The problem has been corrected but your picture should remain being large.

I run a couple of Perry carbs and what you are missing is the throttle STOP screw. Normally you would back the screw out until you could close you throttle thereby shutting off the engine. Perhaps the PO removed it as it is really not needed in an RC setup. I don't remove mine on any carb I just back it out until I can fully close the throttle barrel. I don't know the thread size but you should be able to take it to the LHS or maybe ACE Hardware and get a replacement if you want to.
