Default Webra Speed/GT .32 Parts Needed

Since the Speed .32 has been discontinued, parts are scarce as hen's teeth. My LHS can't even get anything from Horizon or Indy.

I need the drawbar and nut that clamps the carburetor on for a Speed .32. Any info on sources is greatly appreciated. TIA!

TIA,

Try the Webra web site.

[link=http://www.webra-austria.at/motor.php?search=1028GT&folder=SPAREMOTOR&type=AERO&lang=EN]This[/link] is the web page for the .32 engine... Why do you think it has been discontinued!?

Even if some US importer doesn't bring it any more, it doesn't amount to a discontinuation and in any case, parts will still be available for a long time afterward. This is not OS...

TIA,

...And Webra uses the same carburettor draw-bolt and nut for all its under .40 engines... (018/160)

Even if your size is discontinued, it will still be available.

It is my understanding that the 36 was discontinued and the
32 is still in production.... Walt...

If you cannot get the part then look to the ST34 draw bar. The carb base is the same for both and can be swapped over. Tower has them.

I wish someone would have told me they were discontinued as I just received a shipment of Webra 36s today along with several other sizes.

Paul,

There does seem to be some confusion among the ranks. I emailed a question to Webra from their website, and hope to hear from them soon.

Ok, Swift has given me permission to reprint their letter to me. Here's the real story on availability of Webras in the USA:

Hi Gerald,
Webra has forwarded your inquiry. The Speed 32GT and the Speed 36GT are both available and in stock, as is most, if not all the rest of the Webra line of fine engines, all of which contnue to be built in Austria by European craftsmen.
We are regularly shipping to dealers and individuals in the US. We provide warranty and other service as required.
Until early last year, Webra was distributed in the US by Horizon, who did no advertising, nor did they show any Webra products at the various hobby shows, pushing
instead their own proprietary line of Asian engines (Evolution). US owners were coming to us for parts and support that they could not get from Horizon. We have been
Webra's Canadian representatives for some 35 years, so we are not "the new kid on the block".
Let me know what you are interested in along with your full name and address so we can approximate the post cost to
your location and estimate the delivery time.
Regards

Does this mean that they make so much profit on their housebrand engines that they are not interested in making money by selling Webra engines and supporting them?

Does this mean that they do not care about the folks that faithfully bought Webra engines from them in the past - leaving them high and dry without a US supplier of parts for the engines THEY sold? Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Makes me wonder, too. My LHS couldn't even get a part from them. Swift came through and is sending the part today. Payment by check in return mail on delivery. Great people!

That's exactly why I don't buy directly from horizon. I think they have lost touch with who is paying their bills. The local flyer. However, they are more interested in getting the big people paid.

Yeah, fooey on you!!!

Too bad I love saito. I wish they would do the same for that line. Then I wouldn't have to give them money, even if it is on the backend.
