Are GMS engines not worth the "short" money?

No more GMS' s sad but true, finally got it ?
Maybe that is the case in the US, but the rest of the world gets them no problem. Maybe you guys should do some international shopping if you want one of these great engines.

Anyway using chrome, nickel or else for plating there is one sure thing, just wait and you'll see GMS engines are history.
Well, Bax is right and the GMS .40 is back in stock with more models to follow. Care to issue a retraction, alcarafa?

Hi All
Just returned from Cape Town with a load of GMS 47's and loads of spares for our customers on 61's, 76's and 120's. I am one happy man! Yes, we also waited for months. I don't know about law-suits and Olympic stuff, but what I do know is that they had a terrible earthquake in their area, followed by the worst snow storms in years, wiping out electricity supply, communications and transport, making spares and material supply almost impossible. I don't think restoring that infrastucture was priority number one for the Chinese government until the end of the Olympics!! For those who are whishing GMS away, I have bad news for you! Why will one of the most successfull model engine manufacturers just seize to excist? Just for the record, although the same company manufactures GMS, Tower and Super Tigre engines, there are two factories, one in Chengdu and one an hour's drive away in Ya'an.

The interesting thing is GMS is still being sold here in Turkey in various hobby shops...

The GMS engines being available in countries other than the US may just be old stock? The local hobby shop has several of the current Super Tigers in stock which are made by GMS and Tower sold out of them last year this time. He's had them since last year this time.

I will throw this into the mix.

For quite a while, Tower was sold out of the Super Tigre ringed 61, but had the Super Tigre abc 61 in stock. That has turned around, and they have the ringed 61 in stock, but not the ABC.

Could the ringed 61 units be some of the stock arriving as Bax had said that they were in the pipeline?

But, why is the .40 muffler due in late Feb., and the .47 muffler due in late Dec? Aren't they the same part?

I understood they have different part numbers, but aren't the physical objects themselves identical? Can you not put a .47 muffler on a .40 and vice versa?

Thanks,
David

Just for the record the Magnums are made by Sanye near Hong Kong and are also sold under other names such as ASP, SC, SY, Evolution, Kyosho, etc.

The Super Tiger, Tower and GMS engines are made by GMS. It took this company 2 years to get the Super Tigers going after they took the machinery out of Italy. I actually have no clue as to what is really wrong with them other than what has been mentioned in this forum. The way everything was out of stock at the same time makes you think that the factory burned down or something?

Thunder Tigers are made in Taiwan and some of the older Magnums and Tower 40 engines were made by Thunder Tiger back in the early 90's.
Are there any more engines Besides SuperTiger and Tower made by GMS? Including GMS brand.

The solution of drilling the intake nipple should have never, never , never, never been suggested!!!

But this always, always, aways, always fixed the problem.
