It was perfect timing for me, I wanted a 90 sized engine for H9 F-22. I may even order a ultrathrust muffler, should be fun for windy days...

Has anyone that orered this engine received a confirmation of the order from Hobby People? I placed my order on their web site and got an order number on 1/13/2009. Haven't heard a thing from them. This is my first purchase from Hobby People.

Every thing that I have ordered from them, I get a notice that it is being shipped by FedEX. Look in your spam folder and see if it is there. I have ordered several things from them and never had a problem. Just ordered the Airtronice 2.4 and it is suppose to be delivered tomorrow. This according to FedEx.

I had to pass on buying another XLS .46A. I recently purchased one new in a box along with a Sig Kougar MkII kit from a fellow club member who won them as a raffle prize. I also already own two of the RDS8000 radio systems.

The Magnum XLS .91A 2-stroke for $99.99 is really tempting, but I don't have a project right now for which I need one. I did pull the trigger, however, and ordered a dozen of the Airtronics 91402Z servos:

I've spent more (after shipping) getting Tower Pro and Vigor servos from Hobby City. Getting top quality standard sport servos for less than Hong Kong pricing is pretty sweet!

With regard to the Magnum .91XLS and an Ultra Thrust muffler, I can tell you that it is a great combination. They make a long and a short one. I ordered the long one, since I was looking for more power with a 14-6 on a semi-scale plane. I gained right at 1,000 rpm on 10%. The Maggie .91 is also one of the easiest starting engines I have ever owned. It was rare when it didn't 1-flip start. Never used a started on it.

They don't send out confirmations. They think they do, but they don't.

I get to answer my on question. I emailed and asked about the order. Had an almost immediate reply, that my order was shipped on the 14th and got the Fed X tracking number. Looks like I will become a faithful customeer.

I got my 46 today. It is almost cheaper to order it online then to drive to the shop and pick it up. I may end up ordering the 91 this Sunday. Need to look an the finance department to see if it can happen.

Ordered mine on Wednesday morning, it was delivered Thursday afternoon. I do live in Southern California so that helps shipping times but I still found it amazingly fast.

My XLS .46 arrived today, it was 7 days for delivery to MD. It is pretty cold today for MD, it is in the high teens and single digits at night. I'll stay inside and build stuff this weekend.

What fuel do I need to use with the Magnum XLS 46 for just general purpose use. Brands names would be nice.
Magnum instructions are empahatic about using castor oil.

TFM70,

Don't be too concerned with the brand as long as there is enough oil and some of it castor. I use Wildcat Premium with 15% Nitro, 16% Oil. First thing I do is open the new gallon and add 6oz Castor to it which results in approximately 20% total oil in the mix. If you get the Wildcat fuel that comes with 18% oil content only add 4oz castor to it to get the same mix.

Regards,

Clay

I use Power Master fuel in 15%, YS 20-20, and 10% all castor. After break in, the 46 does not really care what fuel you use. I have used Morgans, Byrons, green Cool Power, and a couple of no name fuels. I found that the less costly Thunder Bolt plugs from Hobby People work well in this engine too.

AS Dru says . . . The Magnum XLS is not very sensitive to what brand of fuel you use as long as it is in the normal mixture range after it is broken in.

Hi fellows: Looked out my front door today, and there was my new XLS .46 waiting for me to pick up. What a nice surprise on a Saturday morning. Hope everyone who placed and order receive theirs as soon as I did.
