I have a 56 Alpha that had the recirc system, it ran very unstable, alternately running smoothly then bog blowing white smoke, then accelerate and smooth out just to smoke and slow down again. It was side mounted. I placed a rear vent on it and voila, it now runs smooth as silk and is for sale. I changed it because OS changed the II version. They went forward not backward. The following is OS' explanation: This is the O.S. Engines FSA-56II Four Stroke Engine with the F-4040 Silencer.

FEATURES Blow-by oil exits through the breather nipple on back plate for more
stable operation
Black rocker cover
40NA carburetor
