They are good engines. I just setup (2) of them. Fuel, flip run. I just followed what they write in the instructions, for the most part. After 3 tanks, they have not been touched. Good power, great idle, good engines.

RE: Any experience with a Magnum XLS .61?
I have a Magnum XLS 61 in an older Great Planes .40 size FW190. I had a little trouble getting it broken in, but once it was broken in, it has been TOTALLY trouble free and reliable.
My biggest problem breaking it in was finding the source of the problem with it. There was a tiny burr on the end of the HSN, and it wouldn't run at all, except for WOT.
Once I found the burr and polished it off the end of the HSN, that engine has been one of the best ones I own. I like the XLS61 so much, I bought an XLS91, and found that it turns more RPM's than my either of my OS 91FX's. (Same prop, same fuel, same day comparisons...)
The piston fit to the cylinder was pretty tight on both of my XLS's, so I do recommend that you break it in properly before trying to fly it.
At those sale prices, I'm trying to think why I DON'T NEED some more Magnums right now. It is pretty tempting!
