Default Leaky .82a Saito

I have a .82a Saito that is making a mess inside the cowl off my plane. I have installed a velocity stack and leaned the low-speed as much as possible and it still is very, very, messy! The engine has about a gallon of fuel through it, any idea on stopping some of these leaks? It is mounted inverted, does that make any difference? It seems some of the oil/fuel is coming from around the low-speed adjustment screw, is this common,..how do I fix it?

Oil Coming from the low speed adjusting screw doesn't seem normal.

You might check your valve clearance - Slightly too tight on the intake valve will cause blow back through the intake valve and the engine will be messy around the carburetor.

Too much ring gap will make them messy around the front bearing

Did you use an o-ring when you installed the velocity stack? See here http://saito-engines.info/special_tricks.html . You probably did, but I've got to ask, did you route the crankcase vent to outside the cowl? Double check that all the screws are snug and not loose. Other than the suggestions w8ye gave, I can't think why such a young engine would be overly messy.

I took my carburetor up to the hardware store and selected a O ring to fit between the venturi extension and the carburetor

I did not install an O-ring between the stack and the carb., but that is not the major cause of the mess. The vent tube is ran out of the cowl. I guess I need to try and pin point the major places it is leaking?

A inverted engine with no O ring on the venturi extension is going to drain the fuel plume down over the LS needle and the throttle arm

Try the O ring it costs little or take the venturi off and throw it away.
