The first thing to consider is the fact that ABC engines should not be broken by running them super rich, this does not allow them to get hot enough so liner and piston get to thier proper operating clearence (spelling). I would read your warrantee and make a judgement based on that.

My TH .75 was also very tight and I took it apart and fitted it to my liking. Since I put it back tight I also heated the engine before starting it for the first few tanks. The cylinder appeared to have burrs at the top of the cyliner possibly caused by the final tumbling operation.
Also the break in procedure should be different than your description. My engine had two head gaskets and was sensitive to head bolt torque. Never did understand the two head gaskets but it runs fine now.

The two head gaskets were in there probably because the engine was designed to run on no-nitro fuel. They were lowering the CR for us nitro freaks.

RE: Tower .75 2 stroke issue HELP !!!
I fixed the engine, it at some point in time sucked some kind of piece of plastic into the thing. It had melted plastic bound up in everything. Once it was apart it was easy to scrape off with my fingernail. I have no idea what on earth it was. The engine is running fine now. It looked like black wax more then anything else I can think of to describe it. It was mostly under the crank.
Hence the nevermind in the earlier post.

Usually, you increase the compression ratio to use low-nitro fuels!
the extremely tight bore taper prevents removing a gasket - why?

Plastic inside? Sounds like it could be a wrist pin button. You might want to send that back to the factory and have them take a look at it.

It was nothing actually from the engine I am sure of that, I have run almost a half gallon through it on the test stand and all is fine. Like I said earlier it was black looked like wax but was extremely hard. It was in the front bearing, which I replaced, and on the crankshaft. It looked like what maybe the adapter for a dubro spinner would melt into. When I tightened the prop back up I could have dropped something that was in my 4 way wrench or something. I now think I must have dropped something in it while working on it.

It may have been the seal off the rear of the front bearing?

This would be impossible.
The front bearing in virtually all two-stroke glow engines, sits smack against the front face of the crankshaft's larger journal, which is just a couple of thousandths smaller than the crankcase's inner diameter.
Something as thick as a piece of paper could not get in there, between them and certainly not something as thick and as rigid as a bearing seal...

And also the cranckshaft of the tower engine is circular, I mean, it's not quite triangular like other engines, when you look at it, backplate removed, you see only a circle with a hole, so things coming from the bearings as Dar says are quite unlikely, only the things that may be sucked through the carb or from the ports....
