Default Is this the new magnum 4 stroke?

I am sure I am not the first but I ran across this http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXXRH4&P=ML

Is this the newer version of the ever popular engine? It's still at a great price. Is there any difference other than the blue valve cover?

Why are you looking for Magnum on Tower Hobbies? Shouldn't you be checking them out on Hobby People?

It depends..........
Tower usually has the same pricing as Hobby People
Tower often has "offer codes" to reduce the price (currently $15 off on the Mag 91)
Hobby People may or may not ship to Argentina (source of original question)

Or, maybe he needs a bunch of stuff from Tower and it is more convenient to use one vendor.

I have always bought my magnum engines on tower. All of mine were bought back when they had those great deals. I'm not planning on buying anymore but I just noticed they were back in stock and the only difference I noticed was the valve cover. Just wondering if they had make any other changes on the engine.

I bought six .91RFS's from Tower a few years ago for $119.99 shipped to my door. Tower had them on sale for $149.99 same as Hobby People. Since I am a super saver member, I had an email coupon for $30.00 off a $150.00 order with free shipping. I placed six orders the same night for an engine and a pack of Dubro clevis's to make the $150.00.

I think that gives new meaning to the words "Six Pack"......

I'll have a six pack of Magnums, Please.

Are you still running them?

I just sold the last one.[X(] I love them, but only have two glow models left and they are Two stroke .75's (Tower). I have started switching to gas If I needed another .91 fourstroke, I would buy one in a heart beat. I still set them up, and set the valves for many guys in the club though.

It will run fine on 10%, but I allways ran 15% or 20%. The .91 appears to run identical to the OS .91 Surpass II. When I was still running YS's, I had alot of 20/20 laying around. Mine allways liked to spin an APC 14-6 @ 10,200-10,300 on 20/20 with an OS F plug. Infact, towards the end, I had switched to a 14-7 to take advantage of the extra power from the 20/20.

I noticed that as well.

Our club has a bunch of the 91's that were all bought back then. Our club is small and nobody was running 4 strokes and now almost everyone is.

Mine have been super happy on 5% fuel. 10% and 15% fuel are really expensive here. With the 5% we have been happy with power, transition, and low end. If you break them in you can get an incredible idle and great reliability. Good break-in is the key. Follow the instructions. We have used them on 40 sized 3D planes and have been very happy. I have even run them some on 0%. OK for a trainer but lacking for good sport or 3D.

Not according to Mike Greenshields, the product manager for everything Hobby People/Global:

Sanye continually improves their engines and many times there is no mention of it. For example on the 120 and 91 four strokes were changed to positive crankcase ventilation back around 2001 - 2002, there was no fanfare about it. They have slowly changed to CNC machining in the last 10 yrs with no fanfare. Along in 2001 they completely changed the crankcase casting to include the Magnum square shield logo. These were mostly treated as on-going changes that were generally backwards compatable.

The Blue valve cover Magnum 91 is no different from the Magnum 91 without the blue valve cover made the month before other than the valve cover.

I talked to Mike at Toledo in early April and he said there was no difference other than the valve cover. But I can assure you that there is a difference in the Magnum you bought in the last 6 mos from one you bought several years ago.
