greeting! just want to share also about the st engines. i have the .56 inside the big letter v on the left side and under the muffler on the right is written made in italy by micromeccanica SATURNO and under the left mounting is written chromed. can these engines be considered collectibles. any comment and suggestion is welcomed. thanks a lot to all! george v.
This seems to be your engine from around 1967, Super Tigre engines in these years were very well made and performant, if it is in reasonable condition it has value but not a collector unless very pristine and with box and instructions!

That looks to be the small case 60 from the time. Originally designed for control line stunt. The rc version was a very good motor. About 2 months ago I rebuilt one for a friend. New bearings and a ring from Frank and it is still towing around a Tiger 60.

Hopefully this is ok to post here. A rare find - brand new engine as discussed in this thread - Will edit this post once sold to include selling price for future reference.

I have a old Como .51 engine that is a "ABC" engine with no piston ring. It still runs great with mega power! Capt,n

That is one engine I am keeping my eyes out for. Como .51 ABC SCH is a very strong running engine. I lost out in a bidding war on one last summer.

I'm curious how the V60 compares to a modern .60.

The V-60 is very comparable to a K&B .61 ( #6550) powerwise. It has a chromed sleeve, PDP porting and is ringed. They can last forever and are still highly prized in C/L stunt circles. Tom Dixon offers a Russian made AAC stunt version called the Double Star. I use my ST 60 on the older 60 designs or as a modern .40 it weighs in just under 14 oz's depending on muffler. It shares muffler dimensions with ST .45-60, Como .51, K&B 61 & 65, Webra Silverline & Blackhead 61's, and HB 40-61's, giving a lot of latitude in that respect. It has excellent manners and earns a spot in your heart. I have several of them in my stable.

Text from "Model Aircraft" magazine 1963 - the "V" on the Tigre's stands for Velocita ("Speed" in Italian)
