MDS 1.48
Here are a couple of pictures of my MDS 148. It was a great running engine. Probably my best runner by far. Here was my setup.
OS #8
Perry Pump VP 30
Bisson Pitts with rounded ends cut off
Maxx Super Glow
Master Airscrew 18x6 Classic prop
Stock C2 carb
Transition was perfect once I hooked up the remote glow. I set my low needle at 2.5 turns out. It was turning 9600 RPM with that big prop, and quite unlimited vertically on my CM Pro Giles 202 140. I lost it yesterday on a battery failure. It hit the pavement.
I hope somebody will bring this motor back to the US. I took a while to get it broke in, but was a real stump puller. It started and idled beautifully on one light flip. I need another. Anybody have one for sale.

mnrcaerobat, that is sickening. I have to give it to you, you did a good job on that one. I have the same combo as what you had that is going on the test stand tomorrow. There is one going off in 5 days on ebay, item number 6049564129. Iwas going to bid on this one but will back off if you're interested.I paid $76 for the one I have, nib. Sorry and good luck.

Mr. mnrcaerobat, when you cats out that way stick one, you do it right That is enough to make you want to cry. As far as getting another one there is one for sell on ebay, item #6049564129, going off in four days or so. I got mine from a seller there for $76 plus 10 shipping if I remember right. I would like to get another one but will leave this one alone if you want to take a shot at it. Good luck and hate it for you.

AB, use no nitro or 5% max and a Fox Miracle plug or a Saito SS plug, the 1.48 is a well kept secret. It will run with a Webra 1.20 as his numbers show. Like the Webra it is smooth running.

RE: MDS 1.48
I justo got a new one for 89EUR here in Germany...seems that the hobby store is trying to get rid of all the mds engines...I bought a MDS 48 for 40EU, a 68 for 40EU and now the 148 (without muffler) for 89EU....I couldn't help...I really don't needed the engines...but with that price...
Brian have you tried www.mds-engines.com??
