The Magnum is more powerful but is physically half again the external size

The Magnum 120 is a 15 X 8 or 16 X 6 engine

The saito 115 is a 14 X 8 - 14 X 10 or 15 X 6 or 7 engine

The 115 will happily swing a 15x8 wideblade.

According to Horizon http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...115#quickSpecs the Saito 115 Benchmark Prop is APC 15 x 6 @ 8800 rpm. Their manuals explain that the Benchmark is determined using fuel with 15% nitro. Total advertised weight is 23.5 ounces.

Hobby People http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/210879.asp says the Magnum 120 weighs 31 ounces and does not have prop or rpm info.

Using these numbers in Pe Rivers' spreadsheet, the Saito power output is about 77% of the Magnum.

The Magnum is huge and heavy compared to the Saito, but makes a lot more power.

Since the engines are totally different, I think the airframe and intended use are important questions for the original poster.

The Saito 115 makes one nice hot rod engine to go into a 60 size plane

Yes the 15x8 mas tips were going transonic we think,i'm not sure but it made a boom at the bottom of the dive when you flatten out.Could be something else but don,t know what. The 14x10 has made a very noticable difference in top speed and acceleration is very quick.
