Yes, they do. They are in Hong Kong, not the US of A. I am a little wary about sending my credit card numbers to China and yes, Hong Kong is China.

I am pretty sure Global (aka Hobby People) have the brand locked up in the US. So whoever is selling them in the USA are resellers - eBay folks and the like. By a Magnum and get a warranty, buy an ASP and get an engine, no warranty. And Global as several of the engines on sale - good deals for the price.

Chip

Not to worry, I have logged 68 orders from Hobbyking in my account with them and they are the best. Great feedback on orders, tracking, rewievs, service...etc. I have not lost a single dollar with them, but rather saved hundreds, if not thousands due to their extremely low prices on great products.

I actually have the same experience from many other Hong Kong shops selling various stuff (Peakmodel, Dealextreme, Himodel, rc-mushroom, gunnerairsoft.....)

It seems like Hong Kong shops are very serious and professional indeed. Plus I never get additional taxes or anything no matter what I order

There you have it asmund, you have got it in the bag. The balance between finding the right price and customer service, it is a balancing act. Do not expect £100 service from a cheap £10 model model shop somewhere in the dark corner of a Chinese back street. Though I am sure there are many good model shops over there doing a brilliant customer service themselves.

Yes, I tend to stick to the well known and familiar ones though. Hobbyking and the others I listed are regarded high all over the world, so they are very safe. And I always pay by PayPal for some extra security anyway[8D]

Default RE: ASP engines

hi got my first ASP engines 20 years ago when they first hit the market -from INDY RC still have those engines an they still perform great especially for the moneythey are OS clones and have changed design -just as OS has through the yearsthe early ASP's were clones of the OS FSR series of engines -know for there stump pulling power out putASP has made a great name for itself producing good quality engines for 20 years in chinaeven with some changes in ownership the quality has remained high
my policy with less expesive two cycle engines-is to disassemble them when new and inspect the quality of the internal machining before you run themas it will be no problem returning the engine to the hobby shop or anyone you purchase from -i have found some engines that had some parts poorly machined and returned them with no problem for another engine ENJOY REGARDS TONY

Evolution are made to the order of Horizon. They are a different design to the other Sanye model engines, and so far only two strokes are offered under that label.

They also seem to sell at more of a ''top drawer'' price [:@].
They also market MVVS gas engines under the Evolution name.

The price you are seeing is probably a local thing. Taxes maybe? They are pretty cheap over here. The repair parts I've checked are about 40% cost of OS.

They have a gas engine made by MVVS but marketed as Evolution.

Your prices must be local and maybe due to taxes. They are cheap here. Repair parts that I've checked are about 40% cost of OS.

Hongkong was almost 100 years in British hands, thus almost as long as Boston...

I have got a couple of Sanye engines from England and Hongkong. No problems at all with any shop. Just engines gives you more choices in exhaust systems, Hobbyking has thanks to the weak $ good prices.

Btw, RCV engines are also made by Sanye. ASP,SC, Magnum is all the same. The new Magnum heads are coloured blue now to justify prices close to O.S. That´s all.

Yes, the same goes for RCV. To look at and smell of a new RCV engine, it is obvious that it is made by Sanye.

The RCV is a Four stroke and is drastically different from OS.

Not even close on the price point, just one example is there 120 4-stroke, $379.98 for OS and $269.99 for Magnum $110 isn't even close.

Hobby People had the Magnum .91 RFS Blue Head 4 strokes for $139.95, I picked up two of them, and they currently have the Magnum .52 RFS 4-strokes at half price for $79.99 each...and the .70 RFS 4-strokes for $139.95...

They made a typing error. That rpm figure was obtained without a prop. <G>

From Hi Models page. Looks like they are a little short on English from looking at everything in general. The engine will not turn 18500 with any prop that will fly a plane either
Displacement: 4.57cc
RPM range: 2,000-18,500(r.p.m)
Output: 0.74/18,500(kw/r.p.m)
Weight: 292g
Suitable Prop:9*6-10*6

...I am not sure about cheaper Magnum prices. After all that saving offers an O.S. 120 with the O.S. F included is hardly more expensive than a Magnum. These Chinese Sanye engines are only cheaper bought from HK or Chinese retailers or Just Engines in England.

And even if you saved 20$ on a Magnum, two weeks later at the flying field you are still with a Magnum engine but the 20$ price difference is already forgotten and you might already have an eye on an O.S. engine. The problem here: You are not confronted by a 20$ difference to a O.S. engine now but almost 300$ because you already spent the money on the Magnum.

For only a small extra I get much more satisfaction from a O.S. engine.

The Evolutions are dirt cheap over here, and in my opinion have more quality than a comparable OS engine.

Compare repair parts costs. You can afford to repair Evolutions. Some OS's are throw away engines because of the exorbitant pricing.

Well I told you I would let you know !
I ordered the ASP .25 Monday and it was here Thursday
so I bolted it to wood, fueled and fired. I no, I shouldn't but I put a 10 X 3 APC combat
Prop on it ( run inis 9X 4 ) I ran 2 heat cyclesthen Tached on the third runstill running
fat but I got a 13,700 rpm doing the pinch. Now in 2548 with a 10 X 3 the limit is 14,500
and I think it will do the trick .
I flip started it and ran it on Blue Thunder 5%Nitro and 20% Castor.Did not use a starter!
It's no $139.95 engine but it runs and I feel the rpms will come up.

Thank You and
Have A good Day

The normal sport prop with this engine would be a 9-6
