Default OS FS90 Rebuild Piston Pin Help

HI everyone

I am currently rebuilding my Early OS FS-90 (Rear Pushrod)
I have managed to with great difficulty enough new/old stock parts to rebuild it.

The part I do not have is the piston Pin, the old one is pitted and U/S I managed to locate one from another
model of engine (OS 91) it is the same outside diam but it is 1.5mm shorter [&o] there is alot of metal on each shoulder of the piston, I think it will be fine.

Second opinion's please to set my mind at rest, I don't want to undo all my hard work Eg. Have the rod pull the bottom out of the piston [X(]

Thanks in advance

I don't think you will be in trouble coming up .030" short on each end?

The pin is retained by Teflon buttons, isn't it? It's been a while since I've had mine apart...

The pin might slide back and forth a little bit...
I'm thinking maybe another set of wear buttons to take up the space? (or don't ya think that'd be necessary? )

Its the Piston/ pin with Retaining Clips no buttons

I thought about cutting up the old pin to make 2x 1mm spacers but I think it will be fine as it is once the engine in service burnt oil should keep it in place.

Thanks
