Supertigre engine question

I just acquired a NOS Supertigre G20 glow engine. It has a hole milled into the rear upper crankcase fins. does anyone know what this hole is for? The engine is stamped 1960. Thanks

I cannot be absolutely sure as I’ve not had one of those engines, but typically engines with holes drilled and plugged in the crankcase in the cylinder area is usually for removal of the wristpin to disassemble the engine.

As 1Q said, normally it's to remove the wrist pin however I've never pulled mine apart to check this. I've got a G20/19 (1960) and a G20/15 (1965) both with that hole. The 19 has a baffled piston while the 15 is flat topped but with STs unique port timings.
