Saito G60 FV 2 Stroke
Saw one on the net. Is there anyone who can elaborate? There is an ignition system. I never heard of one.
Thanks, w8ye |

Jim:
To the best of my knowledge, Saito has never made a two stroke. Maybe the poster should have listed it as a "Sachs?" Bill. |
RE: Saito G60 FV 2 Stroke
they made one ages ago,it was a 2-stroke as were most of their engines at the time, the ignition system you saw was the points which were driven by a cam on the crank.

RE: Saito G60 FV 2 Stroke
You dug up a old thread on the rare Saito 2 stroke engines. I don't think these engines were sold outside of Japan at the time. So very few ever made it out of Japan. I think I saw a glow fuel version sometime back, but I could be mistaken though. Shortly after these engines were produced, Saito switched over to all 4 stroke engines and discontinued manufacturing the 2 stroke engines.
Back in April 2010, KMOT had a even more rare Marine two stroke Saito G60F engine for sale. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1235522 It might still be available too. http://static.rcgroups.net/forums/at...g?d=1272403708 |
RE: Saito G60 FV 2 Stroke
Hi,W8ye
William Robinson Bigchap Earlwb Re. Saito G60 FV 2 stroke spark ignition. I bought one (aircooled) from local hobby business ( Dick Steele ) when they were first made. I believe he imported it direct as I have never seen them advertised in Australia at that time. The Model Builder magazine had an article on making a transistorised ignition system using the existing points, coil and plug. Several months later they added a auto off to battery supply that operated when the motor stopped, about 20 seconds delay. Spark had nice bite to it. Sold motor about 4 years later unrun. Should have kept it.I stumbled on this site today. Norm. |
