Smoke System for Saito 82

I have never had a smoke system before. Is it possible with the 82? If so what do I need? Do I need to tap the crank case or the muffler? I dont know anything, might be posting in the wrong section. My Agwagon would be cool with smoke. Thanks for any info

You may have smoke with your saito 82 but need to have plenty of space inside your plane to install a 6-8 oz tank and the smoke pump. You will need to tap the exhaust tubing and wrap aroud a 1/8' diameter copper tubing in order to preheat the oil. I am posting a picture to give you an idea. There are several smoke pumps that work fine but I do prefer the simple smoke pump by TME. You might find much more tips here:

RE: Smoke System for Saito 82

FYI / TIP:

For the smoke fitting on the muffler, instead of just a regular tap, or JB welding a piece of copper tubbing, use the needle valve assemble from an old .40 size carburetor, depending on the carburetor you may even be able to use the spray bar to help with atomizing the fuel into the muffler.

After mounting the assemble to the muffler, you simple connect the smoke line, and you can now adjust the flow by turning the needle valve.
