I haven't come acr
I haven't come across any ideas to answer a question I had about the installation of cockpit coaming, so I decided to try to devise my own method.
I gathered up some leather purchased at a craft store (Michaels) and was able to buy some leather cord from a sewing store (Jo Anns).
I drilled small holes (5/16" spacing) around the cockpit perimeter of my 1/4 scale Fleet and punched two rows of matching holes with a scriber in a 5/8" strip of leather. I CA'd the tip of the leather cord to act as a needle, thereby allowing easy push-through into the leather strip and cockpit perimeter holes. The cord was knotted at the free end. I used a scriber to pull the cord tight after threading through the holes.
I originally tried to use a needle, but the eye was too large for the holes.
Does anyone have a better method that works for them?
Below are pics of the operation.

That looks like a pretty good method to me. I was thinking about the same thing for my Stompe SV-4. At least now i know that it works and looks good. thank you.
