RE: Bridi Rearwin speedster build?
Cool, I can upload pics again. Well, here it is. Both wings are covered. Man that's a lot of wing. It took every bit of a 5 M roll. Nothing left but tiny strips. I'm going tonight to see about getting some paint mixed to match for the cowl and wheel pants. Al in all, I'm happy with the way they came out with the exception of the wing tips. They still give me a lot of troubles. There's probably some easy trick and they come out mint, just wish I knew it. Oh we'll. I will start on the fuse as soon as my order arrives. Steve.

I believe the wheel planet and cowl are the originals that came with the kit. I think I ordered vintage red but they sent me red. Who knows, maybe I didn't order the vintage red and thought I did. I'm considering doing the pinking, but that would take a long time. Well see. I have to wait anyway for the other roll of covering. Thanks for watching. Steve.

It took a whole 5M roll to do the wings. With the scrap from that and a 2M roll I think I can get it done. And I'm hoping I have enough cream colored fabric to do the trim. I still have to try to match the paint for the fiberglass parts. Still away off yet. I'll be happy to maiden it by end of June. It was a last minute project. I finished my winter project too early and didn't plan to build this till this winter.. Steve

I got hitec 645's on everything except throttle. I forget what I got for the throttle, but it's a bit smaller.i like the high torque servos.

The Rearwin is a real nice design from yesteryear... Proportions are very pleasing to the eye. Seeing all the wood makes me want to start my next build

well, im not quite done yet, but with the big ST 3250 i put the ele and rud servos in the tail and flight batteries toward the back of the radio compartment and its quite well balanced. im sure if you went with a smaller engine you can put all of the servos up front, but i dont care too much for four foot push rods. why, you building one?

not sure, you can look on tower at the specs. i think maybe a 35 cc would probably be ideal. maybe even a 30 cc if you keep it light. have you started it yet? if so, post some pics. i cant wait to get mine done. its coming off the back burner soon as i am working a new job now and will have the fundage again soon. good luck with the build, its a fun one. id b e happy to answer any questions you might have. Steve.

I know a guy with this speedster, and he runs a DLE 35. He said its great for every day flying, but no unlimited vert or anything. I guess it all depends on how you plan to fly it.

Oh, I know all about the prioritys. I've been bouncing around four different projects since the start of winter. Sat morning I will hopefully get two of the maidens out of the way, then I can get back to the speedster. It's kind of sad, I only need like $100 to finish it up, but ya know, prioritys.

Sure walther. I can either give you a rough dimension measuring from the outside right now, or if you want an exact measurement, I can do that too, but it won't be until a bit later cause I would have to remove the cowl. The roughshod are ,7 1/2 wide, 9 1/4 high, and 9 1/2 deep. Hope that helps. Does your kit not have the fiberglass parts?
