The one on rcuniverse was mine, it sold in less than 3 minutes. It was in pristine condition, still had the sales slip inside. I know where there is another one for sale, but not listed. I have the 1/5 scale version and compared the 2 and found they are identical in parts and construction, just the scale is different. Maybe these parts can help you since it was my plan to build the 1/4 version some time in the future based on the 1/5 scale version. What would you guys pay for a 1/4 Pilot Decathlon in pristine condition?
Thanks Greig

Hello everyone.
Clavin01,you may find a few tech data on page 5 in this thread. She is a lovely plane indeed!
Today's posts are pure soarers.QB SLOPE 16,JIMMY,TOMMY,Divine WIND,HARLEQUIN,PETER and HUMMING.
It is true that today you can not find many pilots that favours gliders. The truth is that they are unique in their characteristics plus
the mood that they make during their flights.
I have a TOMMY, partly built(fuse only), that is waiting for completion.
Divine Wind is the hardest kit to find and when it appears,it is sold at high prices.I suppose the flying qualities must be very good.Harlequin is also a wonderfull bird.
I believe that many would love to share their experiences with these gliders.
Regards,
Socrates

+1 I-Fly
just making the plans bigger will not give you the right size wood you would have to redraw it .
So that is why I'm looking for the 1/3.7 scale plans

Hello everyone.
I have for today the last pictures from the catalogues I have that present the arf kits under "PILOT" logo.
These were arf kits either with built up parts(fuselage and wing) or with ABS plastic fuselage and built up wing.
There are many PILOT kits with ABS fuselage.I was reading an old RCME magazine the other day and captured an adv page with three more plastic fuselage
.
All these kits were very good flyers, but not very durable.I think that EZ kits started after the reported problems.
May be a fellow modeler can elaborate more on this part of PILOT's history.
The last picture of today's post is a true veteran of the skies:a QB40T Centurion.Built around 1989,is the plane that I soloed with.
Have a nice weekend.

1/2A Pilot Kits.
I have built a few Pilot kits over the years, and still have some in the loft, also some EZs'. I'll get them down and take some photos next year. One is a Cutlass-40, which I hav'nt seen listed here yet.
I also have 2 Pilot 1/2 kits, the Stardust and Ricky Rat. I'm not sure if there were any more in the series. I started building the RR many, many, years ago, before other projects got in way.
Cheers, EGB. (Eric from OZ).

Hello everyone.
I hope you had a great time during Christmas.
I am summing up all the contributions from the fellow modellers that added many kits in the list. There are many kits that were manufactured and still remain unknown,at least for my limited knowledge.
An example is Eric's latest post with Rickey Rat and Sturdust,a kit I have not heard it at all.
Doug, you were right about Pilot arf kits. From the advs that I could see from old MAN and RCM magazines I have aquired recently, there are a lot of kits produced back in the 70's.
Many of them are mentioned in your list.I am taking notes for all the kits that are advertised and the list will be updated.
There are a lot of postings in Youtube about Pilot kits. One that is worth visiting is about Lake Buccaneer.Try search it under " Pilot Lake Buccaneer" quote.
You will find an electric version built from a fellow modeller from Austria.A trully magnificent built and flying plane!
My best wishes for a happy new year!

PS There is a thread about Pro Line radios in this forum.I believe that it is worth visiting it.

I'm currently contemplating up-scaling perhaps 2:1 the Das Box Fly Bipe. The original was a 44 inch span and .20 powered. Mine is flying with a Saito .30 and having adequate wing area handles the heavier engine without problem and makes a very nice flyer. Its manners are impressive and if repeated in a larger size, I'm thinking it would be a worthy effort.
