Hi everyone.
I had started writing an updated Pilot kit list with all the planes that you,the fellow modellers have contributed in this thread.
During this process,I have found many old magazines with many adverts from the 70's and 80's,enriching this list with both wooden kits and many arfs, making this list even bigger that I have never expected.
And to my surprise,I have recently aquired an old Pilot catalogue, dating back in 1981 with No 13.In this catalogue I found a couple of wooden kits and many Pilot arfs that I have never heard of,like the 250-RF series.
Even the kit codes are different than those in catalogues No 17,19 and 20.
All planes are real beauties, even by todays standards and extremely rare.
I will present all the kits that are included in this catalgue. You will be amazed of what you will see!
Do not forget to update your Pilot videos. There are a couple of new videos of Twin Ace and Piper Tomahawk in Youtube.
Have a nice and enjoyfull flying time this summer!

Hey, I know its a while since you posted about the Pilot fw-190a kit, (I'm new) I have the kit, unassembled, with some old school retracts and other goodies. I got it from a guy who has carted it around the globe, thinking he would someday build it. He bought it in Singapore a lifetime ago. I have a few OK model kits, Spitfire mk. 3,(completed, no covering) QB-40 still in box also. If you would still like copy of the original plans , I can do that. Cost would be no more than copy price plus shipping out of Canada. Just like old kyosho kits these do take a tad bit of time.

I figured I would offer up a few photos of my now long gone Pilot .40 size Decathlon (green) and my current quarter scale Decathlon. I think it's the best representation of what a Pilot kit can be. I didn't build it, a master builder from Tennessee did but I now own it and recently maidened it. It flies great and I love it. Hope you like them.

Probuilder, the parts must be from the giant aerobatic DIABOLO kit.In the photos you provide the items that can be seen are:The two plywood parts W-38,that are the 3/32" hatch covers, the metal wing joiners, the metal piano and aluminum
main gear parts with the appropriate metal accessories. You can also see the metal strut mounting parts for reinforcing the empenage(fin and stabilizer).
The Decathlons are a real pleasure to watch as I believe that are a pleasure to fly.Thank you jaycam for sharing the pictures with us.
Best wishes to all,
Socrates

My Feedback: (15)
Started building the Pilot Bellanca Decathlon 40 kit about a week ago. I had a 1/4 scale version of the same kit, which I sold. The 40 size version is nearly identical to the 1/4 scale, except for scale. Anyway, I finished the fuselage and now working on wings. I have the scanned plans from the kit if anyone wants them. I can post them here if there is a way, or to Hippocket. So far this is the best kit I have ever built in terms of design and choice of materials, but the instructions are very weak and must view blue prints carefully to understand what goes where. Here are pictures of the fuselage at the earlier stages of build.

Mr. Shoes,
The wings and tail are Monokote but I'm not sure what the fuselage has been covered with. I have extra that I received when I bought it last year and the owner didn't even know what it was called but it did the job very well, it's very strong and does not wrinkle at all with any changes in temperature. The fuselage is painted with Top Flite Lustrekote, I know that much. Thanks, Mike

Hobby Shack here in California used to sell Pilot Kits. The drawback was everything was printed in Japanese, the wood sizes were metric, and the smaller (.19 size and under) ones were usually too heavy, especially the scale jobs. Eventually, Hobby Shack put them all on sale and that was the end of them here.
