That's what I'm thinking ken. An aluminum tube and phenolic socket. I'll order that this week along with the aluminum to make the gear as I kind of need that to proceed with the fuse. That is once I get my ply. I may not have too much to do till I get this stuff.

My Feedback: (17)
Years ago I got a Mr. M Nosen kit, built to the framed up stage then lost interest in it. Like you I found out that I had to remake 90% of the parts just to get it built. I had it hanging in the garage for 3 or 4 years, then I sold it. It is the worst kit I have ever tried to build, but it is big and it looks great. Then I found one built on RCU that was built by a master builder who suffered serious health issues. Just the completed airplane no engine or radio gear but all the provision were made to install the engine (DLa 56) and the servo locations was done. I bought it, installed the a new DLE 55 ( same as the DLA 56) with an electric starter and Hitec 645 servos, balanced the airplane ready for it's maiden flight. Then I had a serious health problem that will not allow me to fly this airplane so I sold it on RCU for exactly what I spent on it. I will deliver the airplane to the buyer at the Dayton Dawn Patrol event the end of this month. I post this to let you know that this kit can be built and it is a beautiful airplane. Here are some of the pictures the completed Mr. Mulligan. I have more pictures, these are the pictures I posted to sell the airplane. If you have any question about building your kit just ask.
As you can see the kit can be built and it is a beautiful airplane, I just wish I could have flown it.
Take Care

Hi Rich. She sure is beautiful. Seeing that gives me hope. I dint mind having to cut new parts, all part of the challenge. Does that one have working flaps? Mine definitely will.

Thanks so much Rich. Hopefully I can get the stuff ordered this week that I need so I can carry on. At this point, I'm kind of in a holding pattern again until I get some things. I need the gear and ply for the fuse, and the wing tube for the wing. I can finish the H stab and build the V stab in the mean time.thanks again.

The 1/8 ply came in so I'm back to work on the fuse. Hopefully this week I can order the Lg and the wing tube, then I'll have everything I need for a while. Making sawdust again, wahoo!

Sorry, shoulda known better. Here ya go. The bottom half has been completely removed, and new ply formers cut to shape. Now for the fun part. Figure out where all the notches go, and cut, cut, cut. I also won't forget the lightning holes this time. I'll weigh the old pieces and the new to see how much weight I save.

I think you are close Mike.
If someone doesn't know how to build and succeeds with this build, Well they just become a builder.
Enjoying this Steve. But I know you are already a builder.

Thanks guys for the vote of confidence. I enjoy this type of project. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy an easy great planes, or sig, or top flite too. When all is said and done, I'll probably use 10% of the kit and cut the rest?and it's not even just trace and cut. The pieces are all wrong. Some too big, some too small. Everything has to be checked and adjusted. Good stuff. Hopefully tonight I can at least get all the notches marked out and start cutting them. I'll post pics later before the natives start to get restless. Lol

I once knew a cabinet maker that couldn't get the Mulligan built.
You are doing a fine job, Steve.
While you are building this, keep an eye out for a kit by IKON N'wst. They have a fine line of Golden Age aircraft, all designed to test your abilities.

I was planning on doing something a little less challenging, like a Hostetler Fairchild () when my IKON Lochkeed Vega decided it was tired of waiting, and demanded to be built next.
I started on the landing gear last Saturday, and I've been contemplating how to go about it, since.
I think I have a plan, now. I need to bend the rear support wire, then, I can wrap everything in copper and solder it all together.
