I just realized I'm way beyond the point I was when I started back peddling this last go around. Cool. Back on virgin ground again.

It is in the Waco YMF thread under Golden age, Vintage, and antique. Here, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/gold...l#post11878780, quite a ways back though. But unfortunately that was part of all my photos that got deleted so nothing to see. And yes, there are some ugly video of it flying on the IRCC link.

That looks darn good Robert. Real darn shame on your pics on this site. NOT SAY POST 'EM AGAIN OK, just curious if you maintain your own library of your pics.

Thanks Ken. After a short period of time one can't edit a post so unfortunately I can't go back and add them. And yes, I do have my own library of every pic.

The wolfs enjoyed the meal. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm tasty, just like chicken.

Did not mean to put anybody out. Some top notch builders hang around certain sections. I really enjoying see their work. Maybe If I live another 200 years I could be half as good. Well something wrong with that well laid plan.

I was just looking at the above pics with the blue clamps. And then I realized I have never seen someone use them reversed as I have done. Has anyone here ever used one that way?

I use them to spread rather than clamp all the time.

Same thing at the LHS

Actually I have gotten wood from the exact places you mention Steve. Poplar and Oak. Seen several woods there. And you can usually see the label before getting down that far

Ken
Yep, getting down is the easy part its the getting back up that is the challenge! I'm sure the younger kids get a lot of entertainment watching the process!

You guys are too funny. it would be a trip to actually see the two of you together trying to get wood off the floor.Mike would bend over to pick it up, and Ken would kick him in the butt. Mike would fall, then Ken would fall on top of him laughing, thank ends wife would come and shwap them both with a frying pan. Lol.

We'd just trick the kid (you) into getting down and getting it for us. Toss a silver dollar on the floor in front of you on the floor in front of the lumber rack. When you bent down to get it, kick you in the rear before you straightened up. And say " hey kid since your down there, get that piece of wood"

I think i would enjoy kick the kid even more than collecting the piece of wood!!

Yeah lots of love on this thread.
Lots of fun

Yeah it would be great to get together with a bunch of guys on these threads. Fly and yap and eat. Be a heck of a good time and a major learning experience for all I am sure.

Speaking of which, 2nd week end of next month I will pretty much get to do some of that. The Control Line RingMaster Flython is then and only an hour away from where I presently live. Some friends that I post with frequently will be there. Be nice to actually meet them in person. I wont be flying as my RM variant bi-plane will not be flight worthy till next year.
And with all that has been going on in our lives, I did not renew my AMA. So no flying for me till next year.

This is my Rm Bi Plane variant. Like I aid Control Line. But since I can no longer trust myself to stay on my feet flying CL it has a throttle on 2.4 radio, and my control handle has the transmitter mounted to it. And the throttle is on a trigger. Works a charm. I can land before i get in trouble.
My meds play heck on me.

Nice lil bipe ken. Looks like it would be fun to fly it rc. It's too bad you aren't doing any flying this year. Better build up and make up for it next year. C'mon, I want you to build five planes from scratch. Lol. Could be worse.

Thanks Steve. It is my own design. I presented the concept to the BHOTR and they said they would certainly consider it a legal variant. So I bought two sets of laser cut ribs and went at from there.
It would make a very nice RC with out to many changes. And it would still be a RingMaster variant. That has been suggested by some who fly both CL and RC.
I don't have plans for that yet but maybe. Add ailerons, reduce the elevator, and increase the vertical stab and rudder. I think it would work fine.
I have several sets of rib templates for side projects. I also have completed a set of ribs for a larger CL project but not so big as to pull like a mule. Did that once, that is enough.

I am going to keep as busy as I can.

I had kind of an interesting day at the field today. First, I was flying my fun fly twist when the throttle servo quit working, at full throttle. That wasn't too big a deal. Just fly around till it stops. Then, I'm flying my Rearwin Speedster when all of a Sussex, when I go to full throttle, she pulls hard to one side, so I throttle back to land, and it won't throttle down either past half throttle. I had control from half to full, but nothing below half. So, I bring it around at half, and kill the ignition, and grease it in nice. Whew, close call. Ok, so then, I shoulda just packed it up and left, but decided to take the mustang for a spin instead. After two good flights, I go to drop the gear, and nothing. Lost the air line at the tank. Had to make a belly landing. No prob. Perfect landing. So NOW, I pack it up and go home. What the heck? Three planes, three emergency landings. As for Mr. M, it's coming along. I'm soon to be out of work until I get my wing tube and landing gear. The bottom stringers are installed and still need to be sanded. I'll hold off on the side stringers until I'm sure all the work is done back there. They won't take long anyway. I want to start on the wings, but without having the tube and socket to actually measure, I don't want to make the holes in the ribs too big, so I'll wait. Maybe I'll work in the H. Stab and get it shaped and sanded. By the way, the reason for the trouble with the speedster, broken motor mount. When I would pull the stick back to idle, it would literally pull the whole engine thus not coming past half throttle. What a day.

Well your build is certainly better than your flying luck today. You are right, some days we should just go home. I think the most planes I lost in on day was 2. One power plane, dumb thumped into the ground in the morning session (power). Then slope glider in the afternoon due to mid air.

But you build is really looking good.

Thanks Ken. Lucky I was that I didn't damage any of em. I always seem to make my best landings in a time like that.

hey rich, would you be able to give me the measurement from the center of the axle to the bottom of the fuse? I measure 9 inches on the plan but I'm not sure if that's right. I am hoping to order the wing tube and landing gear after work today
