So I've made zero progress in the last few days due to my own stupidity. I'm pretty mad at myself for making such a dumb mistake and know that nothing good comes of building with this attitude. So my genius mistake was, I measured out the center section, marked out the wing tube socket, and cut the thing. Sounds good , right? Well, the tube was still inside. Doh! What a knuckle head. So, needless to say, I need a new tube. I don't think its really worth it to have the tube only penetrate six inches, or three ribs into each wing panel. I was set up for a foot each side, or 5 bays. And it's not that I don't still have plenty that I can do, just don't feel much like doing anything with it. I've been working on getting my ski planes ready for snow flying. That's where I'm at.

Yep. Sure is. But it was my own fault . Obviously. ( I tried blaming the wife, but she wasn't having it.) I'll get back to it soon enough. This won't be a long break. I'm also busy busy packing up all my RC stuff that I don't regularly use, and planes and airframes, and kits, and .....

The question is, "Where will you get the new wing tube ?"
The previos supplies was "iffy" on the last one, as they were with me, too. I'm going to think long and hard before I give them more of my money, and just hope that they send my order.

I don't know where else to get one. I'll keep looking though before I give them any more money. They'll be a last resort kind of thing. I can always mount the wings and build the struts without it, and add the tube and socket at the end. If I have to.

I may just order again from them guys. If I KNOW it's going to take a month, I'm ok with it. But if I expect it in a week, like all the reviews claimed about that place, and it takes a month, I get mad. Also, I don't need a new socket, which for some reason costs as much as the tube. So, even though it will take a while, I think I'll get it, so...slow is better than none at all.

Center section\cabin top is under way. The framing is complete, now building the hatch top. It will sure be nice to be able to open it and hook up serve, and switches and what not rather than through a tiny door under the wing. The hatch is 1/32 birch ply topped with 1/16 balsa skin and will get glassed and painted with 3/4 oz cloth. I'll give z poxy a shot. I've always used west systems, but the z-poxy is cheaper and more readily available. I'll also be hinging with 3/8 piano hinge from Nelson hobby.

Yeah, I bought the 105 and 206 from west. It cost about $75 only because I had to spend $20 on the mini pumps which brings me to the next thing. I like the way there is no measuring with west. One pump of each and the perfect amount. But, if you only need a tiny bit, you throw the rest away. They both have there pros and cons. $50 will do two 60 warbirds or one GS warbird.

S today was spent tweaking and making adjustments to the root ribs and center section to get the wing panels aligned properly. At this point, I got them dead nuts straight across with 0 deg. Of dihedral. The plans say this, but the build notes say to raise the tips just a 1/2 deg. Or maybe 1/4 inch or they will appear to droop. Now that I have everything aligned as I want it, I will make a story pole, if you will, for each side to raise the tips the same. Once that's done, I'll start trying to adjust the incidence if need be, but I'm hoping it's pretty good because I'm perfectly flush at the front and back with the center section. We'll see. To me, this is the the most tedious and time consuming part of a build. Hey, at least it's not a bipe. Double the fun. Lol. Once every thing is set, I'll make the struts. I'll make the back of the struts adjustable by + or - 1/4 inch. I've done this a few times with good results. Once I do the maiden, and get her somewhat trimmed, I'll make it permanent with solder.

So, I've got a question I've been thinking about for a while. The plans and build notes make no mention to wing or stab incidences. Is there a way to determine from the plan? Or do I just assume it's at 0?

If the Stab incedence isn't noted, I take measurements from the extended datum line, and figure it from there.
With your airfoil, I'd guess that you'd want + 1-2 degrees on the stab, assuming that the wing is set at zero.
Remember that a flat bottomed wing, with a Phillips entry, will read +2 when the bottom of the wing is 0.
This all means that your meter will read +2 on the wing and + 1-2 on the stab.
Since your wing to fuselage joint is pretty much set by design, I'd mount the wings so that the joints look good to the fuselage. Take your level and place it on the bottom of the wings. Brace your model so that the bubble shows level on both wings. Then adjust your stab so that it has a degree, maybe 2, of positive incedence when compared to the wing.
Does my explanation make sense ?

So, at this point, everything enjoyable, which is including, but not limited to building and flying is officially on hold. I now have 9 days to have everything we own, which seems like a real lot, out of this house. Feels like an impossible task. Especially when I still have to work 10 hour days. That means that I get up at 3:30 am, get home at 5:00 pm, work till midnight or so packing and moving, then back up again at 3:30. Ugggg. Can't wait till it's over. So, I won't be posting any progress, but will still check in from time to time. It's crunch time baby!

Might be a few before any more building gets done. Once the moving and un packing is done, I still have to knock down a couple of walls, and build a few new ones in my new work shop, as well as build the new build table and what not. I'm already having withdrawals. Lol. I think I'll make it though. The thought of actually having enough room and a proper build table is keeping me going.
