Buying German Krick 'Klemm L35' Plans
Hi all,
I bought a very nice scale model of a german 'KLEMM L35' two seat trainer from a fellow in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He did not have the full size plans to it any longer. As a precaution I am looking for a set of plans that I can get spares made from in case of a hard landing.
The model was made by a german firm named KRICK modellblau. The company is still operating but they no longer list the kit in their catalog. The employees at KRICK do not respond to my emails. (Why don't european firms answer emails from Americans? I find this to be an ongoing frustration)
This is an 82 inch wingspan model and has a OS .91 engine. If you have a set of plans I will pay to have your set of plans copied and reproduced.
Thanks guys,
Kevin Savage

I think I have a set.
My plane might be different, here's a shot of the box.Mine say's L25.
Mine is different, 64 inch wing.
The plans might be able to be scaled up if you can't find the exact ones you need.

I think I have one of those, does it come with a white epoxy or glass fuse and has the fabric sides molded in behind the rear cockpit. My box is orange.

RE: Buying German Krick 'Klemm L35' Plans
Hello pd1 and jetranger-RCU,
Thanks for the response.
The one I have is all stick built. Looks like a mad carpenter's therapy session. Fiberglass sounds intresting. I located a KL-35 kit on the net with a fiberglass fuse last night. I think it was a $1,300 kit. Definitely not mine.
The thought of rebuilding this forrest of balsa without a set of plans is disconcerning. I don't want to take it up for a test flight until I have the plans at home ... just in case. BTW pd1, thanks for the kind offer, if I am otherwise unsuccessful I will be contacting you.

RE: Buying German Krick 'Klemm L35' Plans
I was wrong on the kit. Mine is a Krick but the Bucker BU 180 Student with 75 1/2 inch wing. In the booklet it said some thing about the Klemm. Mine is a trainer, and was before yours I think. When I saw the L25 from pd1 I got to thinking mine said some thing about 25. Turns out they say this is a good engine for the plane because it has high lift and likes to float.

Hi jetranger-RCU,
thanks for looking arount in your workshop. Krick had quite a few 1930's trianer style aircraft they modeled. The biggest was the 82" wingspan KLEMM KL-35. The tail is 24" across and 11" high. Graceful lines and an impressive size model. I have a 1024x768 photo of it available here ...

Hi lvlender.

You are absolutely right here, but KRICK doesn't answer to European emails either.....

lvlender :
Very nice Klemm L 35 you got there, I have found a guy that has that kit and I am thinking of getting it.
I might want to kinda bash it into the Klemm L 25 though because I like the older antique look and the exsposed engine.
Although I think the Klemm L 25 has a flat side fusalage, maybe I'll just build it as the L 35 and put the L 25 Cowl or exsposed engine.
I bet your Kleem L 35 flys great !!!
Let us know, I bet it just float around if you want !!!
By the way I have tried to contact Krick several times too with no luck
https://www.krick-modell.de/katalog.html
They have the Klemm L 25 but I dont know how to get it but now that I seen this Kleem L 35 I like it's 82" wingspan better anyway.
Krick has a 113" wingspan Klemm L 25 but I think it is a ARF.
In this link I just posted, do any of you guy's know how to tell what the prices are ?
That comma (,) messes me up, I get Thousands of dollars on some of those price conversions and MAN !! that cant be right.
Hope you dont mind me butting in but I like these planes too and wanted to join in.

If you want a Krick Klemm 25 kit you can order it from either
[link=http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?Search=Yes&sppp=12]Sussex Model Centre[/link] in the U.K or [link=http://www.drexlers-modellbau.de/]Drexlers Modellbau[/link] in Germany.
I have received good service from both companies.

RE: Buying German Krick 'Klemm L35' Plans
As an update I was able to get the full set of constrution plans and the heavy clear molded cockpit windscreens from Drexlers-Modellbau (hope I spelled that correctly). I filled out their online order screen but was unable to send it, unknown why. I took a 'print screen' of the order page and emailed it to them requesting a Paypal invoice. I got a perfect Paypal invoice back from them detailing all the costs and I paid it. The item came within a week from Germany. Cool

Red B :
Thanks for the link, right now I am working on getting that Klemm L 35 but I just might get the Klemm L25 if it doesnt work out.
Also I want to clear up something I said in my last post.
I could have sworn that the Klemm L 25 has a 5 cylinder exposed engine, maybe some of them do, I think I seen one somewhere like that.
I look forward to hearing how your Klemm L 35 fly's Ivlender.

Hi Tim!
As for the radial engined Klemm 25, the British B.A.M Swallow which was the English version of the Klemm built under license before WWII was powered by a radial engine. Perhaps you are referring to that version.

I think your right, I found this link to one and I'll post a picture but I cant read it.
http://www.fliegendes-museum.de/klemm25.php
I think it would be cool to build the Klemm L 35 with the radial but I cant find a picture to back that up []

I was just wondering if you had any luck on locating the plans for the KL-35. I just got an almost completed plane, but need the plans to finish the tail.
Thanks,
John
