Bob,
Glad the scans will be useful. Don't know if you still want it but here is the article from February 1969 MAN.

RE: flying lawnmower and snoopy's doghouse plans needed
Again Ray, thanks
The problem with the copies they sent is that they are photocopies of photocopies so a lot of detail gets lost. With the 1971 article, just seeing one of the pics explained the words.
I'll be using these from 1969 as well, the clear copies are great. I can only imagine the magazine collection you must have
Appreciated
Bob

I have to echo the appreciation. What I got from MAN was copies of copies that can't hold a candle to what you posted here. Looks like there may be a couple dog houses flying around next year.

Hello Simmons,
for some reason the Dog houses are flying out the door at FlyingThingZ so they should be more then a couple of Dog House flying around this year and next year.

I definitely remember the Flying Dog House - and I'm talking about the original prototype built by Al Signorino. My best friends father, Art Biehl, got me into RC and he had it in his basement for several years. From what I remember it flew OK, but was quite sensitive in roll and landed rather fast. I don't remember the what the engine or radio was, but this was in the mid to late '70's in St. Louis, MO.

The drawings I have stored away is for a 90 size engine. I'll check to see if I have videos of it and post it. If you go to flyingthingz video page you will see the old dog house in the beginning of the video and there's some pictures of the dog house on the flyingthingz gallery page

The original plans were from 1969 but there were some upgrades done in 1971 to give it better flying characteristics. The side panels now only hinge the front 30% or so and the engine was moved forward. The rudder control with 3 bell cranks looks like neat setup. Tempting to just put 2 servos but the original design is part of the enjoyment.
The design is for a .60 sized engine or equiv power from 1971 vintage.
It'll never be a glider but, as the forum topic advised, it is truley a vintage plane with some history. There will always be improved versions but building from a plan has it's own satisfaction.

did you ever complete the Doghouse build? I just got the plans and was wondering which airfoil your supposed to use, the full size one on the plans or the one they show in the original article???
maybe I'm just overlooking something.
anyone have any input on this?
thanks
