RE: Big Old Timer
Anything I've seen over 9ft has been the result of getting a set of plans and doubling everything; then you would have to do some beefing up. The structures weren't designed for power like that. How about the Sig Rascal 110? Your motor would be more than enough power and they fly beautifully!....Jim

RE: Big Old Timer
Jay- Youve got a lot of motor there for an old-timer. Bob Hartwig flew a Boehle "Giant" on an OS .65 open rocker. The wing span was 176". http://www.antiquemodeler.org/adl/adl-gas/Giant.jpg Klarich Custom Kits http://www.klarichkits.com/ sells a short kit. It would be an interesting build. Jim

RE: Big Old Timer
How about a Lanzo Racer. It has a 144" wingspan.

Don't know if there is a kit available, but I'm sure there are plans.

Does anyone know of any large old timer type kits that would be suitable for a 120 four stroke engine? I'm guessing about a 140"-160" wing span. Thanks, Jay

I doubt there many old timer kits for the engine size you quoted.

RE: Big Old Timer
Hi Dick,
I was not thinking of your 14ft Quaker, I searched RCU and found the model I was looking for. It was the 16ft Quaker by built evan-RCU.
Your model is great but 16 is greater than 14, sorry!
I will now attempt to post a picture. Posting pics has not worked for me for some time

Sorry I doesn't work.
Search RCU for Giant Quaker, you will be surprised at the sizes.

RE: Big Old Timer
Why would I be surprised???
But it won't fly with a 1.20, so I never spoke up.... the mid size one is 105" and flys with a Saito .56. I did start building a 12 footer for a Saito .91. I have the plans if you're interested but it's not a kit...
