    RE: WACO YMF

I just got a PICA 1/5 kit.  Does anyone have the revised instructions that are talked about on this forum.  I can't seem to get the "house of moy" site to open.  Is it down?

    Dan,

Do your files have the modifications to the outboard ribs?

    Bill, Waco Brother #1
Its easy, just glue all the pieces together, and sand off everything that doesnt look like an airplane.

    Bill,
I haven’t had a chance to upload the modified ribs yet. I used adobe photo shop to scan and save my files to pdf. I lost my program[:@] as soon as I can replace it I’ll get the modified ribs uploaded.

    RE: WACO YMF

Thank you all for your kind comments, I can say that I have witnessed a lot better builds here on this thread, and I personally know of other guys here in AUS that have, and are building large WACOS that would leave mine for dead. I will see if I can get permission to post some of there planes. I have been hoping that Peter Barth would produce a 40% er but if not then I will purchase another 1/3 scale WACO and fix all the little things that I did wrong on this one.
    Regards tmac.

    RE: WACO YMF

    Gentlemen,
I'd like to become a member of the Waco Brotherhood.
I absolutely LOVE these planes, and feel that each one of them stands for all that's classic and vintage about our hobby was well as
    aviation its self.
There's just something that "speaks" or "clicks" in my heart when I see a Waco flying!
I'm in the process of building a Pica Waco YMF 1/5 scale, that my Dad left when he passed. He never finished it.
And I feel as though he has passed me the "Waco torch" to carry on....
Let me know what I have to do.......

    RE: WACO YMF

    Tmac,
Your Waco is looking fantastic I’m sure you just can’t find enough time to work on her LOL.
I have a question for the three piece wings using the wing tubes. Other then the flying wires what else holds the wings to the center section? Are they screwed together any where?

    Steve,
I’m sure as soon as Bill reads your post he will give you your brotherhood #. Your right the Waco just screams out Classic

Yes, welcome Steve, a real friendly mob on this site, enjoy.
Dash, Peter supplies all the hardware to do the flying and landing wires but me being me used my own wire and made the stainless threaded swagged ends. The turn-buckles are in the kit and the other fork ends I purchased from Hans (Aero Scale Products of Switzerland) along with the scale wires for the rear surfaces.
