Hey George as far as I know we still don't have the art work for the shirts. I'm thinking we may have to have some one with experience in doing this kind of work make a new setup. Any one up to the challenge?

Dan, Just thinking, if we use the same design as the blue shirts I'll see if I can obtain and talk to the people who have taken care of our shirts at the VFW- just maybe!!

Hey all, figured I would introduce myself and say hello. I picked up a Pica 1/5 scale with a G26 from a buddy of mine last year at Perry with plans of converting it to electric. Since then I have been given a third scale cub with a G62 at Christmas time with the understand I have to keep it that way, so since I am already picking up what I need to fly a gas plane I figured I would pull it off the shelf and fly it like it is.
I have been bouncing around through the posts reading up on things so I will probably have a few questions along the way. It was built without the wing fillet so at some point I would like to make one, also it has had a few repairs and been patched with solartex but the plane itself I believe may be fabric. If the plane is as great to fly as it sounds I will eventually strip the whole plane and cover it all in solartex.
I am regluing the rear landing gear blocks today with hopes of flying it this weekend. So I guess my first question would be where the CG would be at. It was a flying plane so it should be right but I would rather be save then sorry.
Have a good day all.

Most of us use between 28 / 30% of the mean average cord to balance the Waco if your not sure how to figure go back to page 710 post 17729 and Bill explains how it's done.
Good luck keep us posted.

Thanks for the reply, after some more searching I found another thread that put it at 5 and 3/8 which is where it was already balanced. With any luck tomorrow will be a nice day for my first flight.
Has any one ordered instruments from Inzpan lately from the Czech Republic ? They may have changed their name, I had them under my favorites and the address is not working.
Best detail instruments on the market.
Thank you.

Help!
it seems like my Pica 1/6th scale kit is missing the following formers: F8A, F8T, F9T, F10 T and F11T. Can someone please help me out by emailing me templates for these. Thanks very much!

Try Aero Cockpit http://www.aerocockpit.com/ they appear to be the same and are also located in CZ. I have not used them. Change the currency at the top to get prices that are understandable.

Got three flights in today. Thought it was all over on the first flight when the motor stalled just a few seconds after takeoff while climbing, I was amazed how well it turned and came in for a down wind landing. I did notice now that I'm all trimmed out I have quite a bit if up elevator for level flight, I think I came across a post earlier showing someone flying by level with about the same amount. By the third flight I was already feeling pretty comfortable, did some stall turns, a few spins and a flat spin, think this is gonna be my new favorite plane.

Hi Kvlasblom
When I first started going over the plane there was 3/4 once of stick on weights stuck to the tail wheel drop bar so I pulled them off.
The plane balances right at 5 and 3/8 from the leading edge of the top wing with no fuel this way. Tomorrow I will take the weights with me and set them in place just to see where it puts me.

Got another two flights in today. I added the 3/4 ounce back to the tail wheel and it bearly made a difference, still a little nose heavy so I left them on. It ended up removing about half of the trim. On the dive test it leveled out slowly but still required a bunch of down elevator when inverted. Im thinking maybe another 3/4 ounce might make it all good.
My buddy re-tuned the motor so I could get a lower idle which made for a much better landing. Got a little braver with the spins but have to work on getting it to flat spin. I'm thinking there's gonna be a smoke system coming its way lol.
Add me to the brother hood, I'll be flying this one for awhile.

I was able to locate a link that had the 1/5 scale drawings along with templates, printed them out, reduced to the 1/6 scale and checked a couple against formers I had and got good match....so problem solved. Thanks.

based on my research on engine sizes for the 1/6 scale the 91 four stroke seems to be the popular engine size and that is what I will be putting on mine. I did see a thread where a guy flew the 1/6 with a saito 100 and indicated he never got passed half throttle. Hope that helps.
