TEE SHIRT UPDATE:
I’ve been in contact with the print shop and had a small problem with the art work but was able to take care of the problem relatively easy. They said everything looked good so I have one large shirt being made up should be here in about two weeks. I will post pictures hopefully you will like it. This will be the first shirt of the fourth generation of shirts so I will mailed to Bill I feel it’s only right he should have the first print.
At this point we have 39 shirts on the list if this is all we get the cost should be about 16.31 each plus shipping. The more we order the cheaper they will be. I say let’s give it till the end of March then place the order.

Can anybody in the brotherhood who has built a Barth 1/3 scale WACO YMF-5, tell me the correct CG for this model. The CG on my plans don't make sense. I would have to add 21/2 lbs of lead on the tail to get anywhere close to balance at the plan spec. Anybody else have this problem?

In front of, on, or immediately behind the rear cabane on the top centre section ( 250 mm from leading edge, starting point on mine )

Swanson, plenty of photos of my build on this forum, but here is a couple more. No added weight to tail or nose at this stage.

Hey tmac48,
Love the detail on your Barth WACO. I've been using the photos on your post to help me detailing my 1/3 scale BARTH WACO. I've posted a few photos of the progress so far on a couple of pages back. I especially admire the wind shield on the main cockpit of your WACO. You wouldn't hapen to have an extra one that you would be willing to sell me ?? I'm in the process of building one, but I'm not satisfied with it yet.

I don't seem to be able to figure out the PM inner workings on this forum. You may get my responses and you may not.
I haven't heard any more from TMac but his metal work has to be aluminum. Steel would have to be too heavy. It's obvious that TMac is very talented and knows a lot more about metal work than me. Maybe he will jump back in when he has time.
BTW the proctor hyper link is now a NY building contractor.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier,a very talented lady modeler in AUS was making them but no longer, my wife made the clothes and I had an artist paint the head. I am sorry but I do not know of another source.

Doug,a friend of mine was able to call on a few favours at a metal shop that gave him access to a cnc machine to cut the frame using the Barth frame supplied as a pattern. The rest was conformed to shape gently with small ball pane hammer on a thick piece of steel bent to the shape of the fuselage. The frame is in two pieces as per what I could see was how a full size was made, but you could easily make one from fiberglass as per other full size examples that I have seen.

swanson, your are correct, 0.5 mm alloy,screwed to the fuselage with laminated ply glued to the shape of the fuselage.

Covering the Fuselage
I have just about finished my build of the 1/6 scale Pica kit, and am now trying to get a plan together for how I might go about covering the Fuselage. As you know it is just one large compound curve, and I have never covered one like this. I will be using Ultracote for it, and would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions as to how I might go about it to minimize and hide the seams.
