I looked there and instead it offers to unsubscribe from the thread. I chose to do so and subscribed again. Hopefully this will fix it. In the past I used to get into my thread by logging in on rcuniverse and going to my page, where it was listed. But I couldn't find it there. Also, searching for it in Google got me there in the past. Anyway, I've saved the link to it in my favourites now.
Dan she is not finished yet, moved house and finished the WACO and flew her. Now I have to make another trailer for the the Waco , ordering the supplies for that as we speak. the little teardrop will have to go on the back burner fore a while.
regards tmac.

GP Waco YMF 5 Maiden flight
Here's a few pictures of the maiden flight of my GP Waco. Everything went flawlessly. Saito 1.50 for a power plant, Falcon 18 X 6 prop. The engine is very well suited to this plane though the jury is still out on the prop. It looks nice and performs well up to about 2/3 throttle (6000 rpm) then seem to lose efficiency. The engine is still breaking in but still will pull the Waco straight up from level very well for about 200 ft. I only flew it twice today but I'm very impressed with this plane, it will probably replace my Skybolt as my favorite by-plane.

It came out at 13 lbs even, right in the middle of the target range. Fly's great, very agile yet very graceful as well. I wish my Super Stearman was as good a flyer.

Good to see the thread is still going strong. Good job guys. Looks like I made the right choice in picking Dan to take my place.

Nice trailer TMAC,
My trailer was the best investment I have made for R/C. I added some shelves and a cabinet but I still need to do a bit more work to better utilize the space.
Later!!

Hi Guys,
My grandson wanted to fly my WACO in Real Flight so I put in a request on the Knife Edge forums and one of the guys filled my request. The plane is sized to 1/3 scale and he created an AV file to adjust the flight characteristics to my specs. The plane fly's and lands like my WACO. IF you want to download the plane search for WACONUT Dark Blue with numbers. You will also need to download the EA and AV files.

Nut, I have noticed that most American modellers tend to go for rather large trailers where as aussies lean towards smaller trailers that are more economical to tow and usually can only accommodate one large model. Keep in mind that petrol down under costs $1.50 plus per lit ( over $6.50 gal ! ) Must admit I do like big and big cars as well as big planes.

Hello Guys,
my name is Werner, i´m from Germany so please excuse my poor english.
I found the plan for the Pica Waco 1/5 on the net and lately i started building. Now i´m looking for the right engine. I would prefer a 4-stroke gas engine, but i´m not sure which one. Do you think the Saito FG 30 would be an adequate engine for this plane? A big loop from level flight should be possible. Or should i better think about a 2-stroke power plant like a DLE 30? My club-mates fly 2-stroke gassers, so no one can give me a good advice for a 4-stroke engine.
I have no experience with gas engines, my planes are all electrified and some of my helis have nitro-engines.
It would be nice if you you could give me some answers.
Nice greetings from overseas
Werner

I haven't flown my WACO in 2 years due to my back issues. I had surgery last year and my back is feeling better. I just finished pre-flighting my WACO and running the engine. If all goes well it will get flown tomorrow. I am excited and nervous to put her back in the air.

I am sure you do not need any' good lucks '. All the best with the refresher fly and hope your back holds out as well as mine has after surgery.

Just one man's opinion,
The last 1/5th scale I was flying had a Saito 150 Golden Knight and it flew it with authority, I am not familiar Saito FG 30

Went flying today and put 2 good flights on the WACO.
I finally shook the nerves from the crash I had with it a few years ago and really enjoyed the flights and did quite a bit of aerobatics with the plane. Loops, rolls, inverted and stall turns. I tried to get my grandson to take a couple circuits of the field with it but he was afraid to fly it.

Awesome Anthony. Good news. I also flew my lil GP Waco today. Had some really good flights till my throtthe linkage came apart about 1 minute into the last flight. I can tell you that a G-26 at half throttle will fly for an hour and ten minutes on 16 oz. tank. Lol. Jeez, we usually hope that our engines will stay running in flight, not me, i was just hoping it would die. After about 20 minutes i held the transmitter up and asked who wanted some stick time. All in all, it was good though. Made a nice dead stick and went home.

Well. it looks as if I will be down for monster planes/12 o'clock high this year. Going to the rally of eagles at Mac Hodges the weekend before, then down to Lakeland.
Cheers,
Dave.

Look forward to seeing the beautiful bird again. Shoot, I might just bring the Pitts up to Georgia and fly with ya.
