WACO YMF
Nut, that looks fantastic. I have cleaned up the 34x12 and painted the tips red, put a HARTZELL logo on it just to get a idea of how it looks. Having trouble getting a SENSENICH logo, would be interested in the size of the one you have used and where you bought it?,

tmac,
I got the decal from Gary Siebert, he owns Pink-it.net and produces pinked finishing tapes. Here is his web site http://www.pink-it.net/
He has his e-mail and phone number listed. When I got them from him all he had was 1/4 scale available. He said he would be producing 1/3 scale. I do have some extra 1/4 scale if you cannot get them from Gary.
Later!!
Anthony
BTW: Be careful of the 34" prop on the 1/3 WACO, it doesn't leave much room for prop clearance. I have approx. 12 flights on the 34" prop but it is very close on take-off and landing.

Thanks Nut, I have tried Gary but unfortunately he his trying to sell his business and no longer supplying any decals. I have contacted another source in the STATES that produces full scale prop decals and now waiting to hear back from them regarding smaller sizes.
Regards tmac. ( we must be both on the key boards at the same time! I have cut the 34 back to 32.)

My Kangke Waco is beginning to take shape. I should have it completed within the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I did have to cut the cowl to clear the DLE 40CC Twin cylinder gas engine spark plugs and spark plug wires. I think it still looks pretty good though.
Best wishes and good safe flying.

I had my maiden flights today with my Kangke Waco powered by a DLE 40CC twin cylinder gas engine. The flights went very well and the plane flies great. I am still playing with the top wing incidence but the plane and engine have both been great.
Sorry guys, no one at the field to shoot videos.
Best wishes and good safe flying.

Here are a few pictures of my Waco in action today. The DLE 40 CC twin cylinder gas engine runs great and seems to be a good match for the plane. The plane flies super and I now have it trimmed out to my flying style.
Best wishes and good safe flying.

Heli,
Glade your having fun with your Waco she looks good in the air. I see you fly off a paved runway how does she take of on the pavement? Mine does much better taking off on the grass.

Hey mrdhud, the Waco does well on the pavement. No bad habits. The only issue I have is with the engine. The engine loads up a bit and stutters on take off. I have tried every thing I can think of but I can't seem to get that mid range stutter out of the engine on take off.
Best wishes and good safe flying.

In Australia we have each year an event called The Shepparton Mammoth Scale Rally. Usually attracts about 150 large scale models from all over our vast country. I have not entered a model for some time so it will be great to mix with all my old mates again. The trailer is getting packed , it fits!!!

Looks good tmac,
I finally got my WACO out this past Monday to try the new prop. The plane flew much better. Picked up quite a bit of needed speed and pulled thru rolls and loops well. I did have one issue. I pulled up vertical and performed a stall turn at about 200ft altitude and as soon as it nosed over and started down the engine died. Needless to say I about *&%( myself. I pulled out downwind and turned the plane towards the runway and just made the end of the runway. I removed the cowl and started the engine back up and had a guy in the club tune the engine for me, it was running a little too lean. I think the prop change contributed to the engine change.
I then discovered I stripped the rudder servo out while I was dragging the plane back to the pits. I am replacing the servo with a 444 oz Savox digital servo. Hope to fly again this weekend.
Later!

Hi guys.
I am in the process of converting my Saito powered Pica Waco to CDI ignition and gas. I have the engine conversion finished and have bench run the Saito on Av gas and oil blend. It runs superbly and starts are a dream. Now its time to mount back onto the airframe. My question is about optical isolation. How many of you are running with optical isolation and how many with out. Is it a must?? I dont want to overly complicate something that has a simple solution, while on the other hand if there is good reason to run the isolation system, maybe thats the way to go.... Thoughts?

I run an optical kill switch on all my gassers. I think it is a very safe way of running a gas engine. I had a throttle servo fail on my grandsons 30cc Extra and was able to line up with the runway and kill the engine with the optical kill switch.

I as well run an optical kill on my gasser's. I have not had a need to use it in an emergency situation yet, but, I have seen several guys whom wished they had one.

I have a couple of Saitos that were converted to glow-ignition. Haven't used an optikil switch yet, just kill it with the Throttle like I did when they were pure glow. With a Gas carb, I defiantly would use one.
HI all, had a fantastic weekend at the Shepparton Rally with a lot of interest shown in the Waco. Have a lot of photos but having trouble loading them in my computer, will post some when I resolve this problem. In the mean time I have removed my landing gear and will see if I can fabricate functioning oleos but I would like to hear if anyone has used a set of the landing gear from Century Jet Models, would rather buy a set already manufactured if they are satisfactory. So if you have any info on this gear please let me know.
