WACO YMF
Dan, after the rework on the suspension they are working just great, however I am definitely putting her down a lot gentler now! I will have to do another slight modification if I decide to make some sliders to hide the oleo struts.

Will put her back together now and have some fun in the air. Need to concentrate on the transition from the head rest to side padding, may need to remake the side padding and extend it a little so as to marry- up with the head rest.

Dan, thanks for the reply. I have been checking those sites as you suggested as well as a couple of others. Any other suggestions for just building a bottom wing. I know about the links to AMA plans and 1/5 file with Stickbuilders patterns as an option, but was looking for a kit cutter that I might be able to get the components with 1/6 scale patterns.
thanks again.

HI all. Went around to a friends place on the weekend to help him with the first run up with his Moki 250 in a comp arf p47. A awesome sound, will post a couple of pics but if you want to hear the Moki ticking over go to Andy's P47 with Moki 250 on YouTube. Tried to upload it on this forum but can not condense it enough. Cant wait to get my own 250!!!

Great looking plane!!! Yes we'd all like to have a Moki or 2. Btw has anyone put a gasser in a YMF-3? If so what size engine and what brand did you use?
Thanks
Mike

Hello Mike, i put a Saito FG 30 in my 1/5 Pica Waco. I´m very happy with this engine, i fly it with a 17x6 APC prop. This fits very well for scale-flying with the sweet sound of the four-stroke engine. The plane weighs around 16 lbs, and flies very good. Hope this helps.

I was hesitant to say anything, but that is exactly what I thought. Also, unless he was going downwind, that landing speed was really up there. After the video ended, did you notice that a man had a mod for the FG 33R3? Very interesting to read and too bad you apparently need to get the engine modified after buying it!

I've got a 3 cylinder Saito that makes a great paperweight. It'll drop a cylinder in a heartbeat and the other 2 don't make enough power to drag the dead cylinder and maintain flying speed. I'll take my FT-160 any day.

My Waco is 1/5 scale 60" WS. I wish there were and easy accurate was to convert glow to gas, but I'm sure I'm not the first person to want that. Just want something in gas that will fly it scale and be reliable and have some longevity.

Something in the 20cc range. I've used the G26 in the 1/5 th scale version. Works well and you don't need extra nose weight. I still like my OS FT160 best. It runs extremely well on FAI fuel (0 nitro). Sounds great too. Did one years ago with a Maloney 125. Couldn't get it off the ground if you beat it with a stick.

Note that the 1/5 scale has a 72" wingspan and the 1/6 scale has a 60" wingspan. Is yours the 1/6, 60"?
