Thanks again guys. One more question, if I may, how do you finish the interface between the glassed portion and the covered portion of the fuse. Do you just use a ffiller like bondo and sand it down to blend the surfaces, or is there some other way? Thanks in advance.

Just received plans for my Pica 1/5 scale Waco from e bay
I just received the 1/5 scale Waco plans from e bay and will be cutting and building soon. The plans look great as received from a seller on e-bay. I wanted to post this so I can be kept up to date on any 1/5 scale Pica Waco builds. I will post here pictures of my progress if that is Okay. I have one comment now with regards to the plans being the wood for the wing ribs (for example ) is 5/32 and that is NOT listed in my Balsa USA catalog . So I'm planning on using 1/8" as a substitution. Any comments??? Also You could call Me regarding the 1/5 scale Waco at 240-419-8444 just leave message for Richard and I will call You back.. Thanks

Nine O Nine, Mitch, when you built your 1/3 Barth did you use heat to massage some of the fiberglass parts into position or is my memory really shot.
Yes it is hard to realize Bill is gone. He and I talked quite a bit at the last Top Gun where I met his son and grandson. We met again at Dan’s house shortly after where he shed more of his knowledge.
Other times we would just share old sea stories about submarine duty and the life in the service. He will be missed be all.

ceiji I had very little trouble with the fb fairings , found them to be pretty easy to install.
All screwed in place and now to remove and paint and reinstall.
Regards tmac48.

Hi Ceije, I no longer am in the hobby but I check into the forum once in a while.
My Waco was an AMR but I used some Barth fiberglass as well as my own moldings.
The only massaging with heat I had to do was the fin to fuse fairing. Regards to the forum members, Mitch

Stickbuilder,
I would like to join the Waco Brotherhood. I recently purchased a 1978 build YMF-5 1/5 scale and I am in the process of rebuilding her with a saito FG60 radial. There are a lot of re-engineering details, but this is the build I have been looking forward to for several years now.
Thank you in advance...JJ

I'm sorry to say that Bill (Stickbuilder) passed away last June and is surly missed by many. He left me to handle the Waco thread so I can sign you up.
