That's MASTER Chief to all us Airedales, Jarheads, Groundpounders and otherwise non-Squid types Chief is how you address a Chief Master Sgt in the AF, same grade, more brains.

Just better wearing Pantihoes for the upper grades AF!!!

See you at Top Gun. What are you going to be entered in? Team Scale maybe?[8D] Is that prop really going to be sitting closer to the cowl on one side than on the other?

Thanks to the Chief for putting this thread together

That's MASTER Chief to all us Airedales, Jarheads, Groundpounders and otherwise non-Squid types Chief is how you address a Chief Master Sgt in the AF, same grade, more brains.

That ought to start something.
Chief is how you address a Chief Petty Officer (E-7), Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8), and finally Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9). The way you address anyone in the Air Farce is: Hey You.....Yeah you, St for brains! Yeah, I'm talking to you there, Air Scout.....

I'm in pro-am so you won't be able to put your downgrades on paper.....HAH!!!!!!!!!! As far as the prop and cowl goes..........I made the cowl crooked so the prop is even side to side.....and if you WERE judging it I'd have the prop vertical![>:] Mitch WB100

I figured as much. Why are you in Pro-Am? Good as you build, I figured you would at least be in Expert.

I choose pro-am because my flying skills aren't as good as I'd wish. Thanks for the compliment about building. Up here in the Nawth it's hard to get in enough practise time to get back the skills I once had. Isn't there a country song something like that? Also summer weekends are divided with family too. Not making excuses....just the facts. Mitch WB100

I'd just ask you to reorient the propellor, just like any good Judge is allowed to do. Same with control surfaces.

I have a feeling someone is going to be just a tad bit rough on ya and any non-scale features like wing tips etc: [&o]
Maybe if you let him fly it he might cheer up a bit!!!

I've built Dario's 26% Skybolt (twice!) and loved every minute of it. Trying to reduce the weight somewhat, but the G62 handles it very nicely. Would love to get a set of Dario's Waco ARE plans! Any available?

Jim,

See the resource list on the House of Moy site, the contact info is there for Dario. The AMA also has plans for his 70" (1/6th scale) ARE.

Thanks John - I found the AMA 1/6 scale set but I would like the larger 87" wingspan. I have sent an E-mail, sort of on spec., to the address listed in the house of Moy, but I'm not sure if Dario is still alive and plans still available. We shall see. I think the ARE would make a nice stable mate for the YMF!! Next winter's project perhaps if I can find the plans. I have the plans for Dario's Skybolt, which I have built and his Starduster and Frankly, whether I build them or not the plans are just beautiful enough to mount on my living room wall!! Yes I live alone!!

Dick Watz is in the process of drawing a Cabin Waco. Knowing him, I'd be very surprised if it were not 100% scale outline. I don't know when he'll be finished with it, but it will probably be right behind the UPF-7.

Is there any word on the "t" shirt order. I sure woul like to be able to wear one as a spectater at top gun this year. Best show on earth. Just recieved a pile of waco drawings from nat air and space museum. The three views of the ubf are almost big enough to use as a patern for a 30 size model. How am I supposed to show copies to a judge, the paper would weigh more than the model:::::::Time now to start drawing up some fuselage formers, and convert this into a xjw1. Hope to see some brothers at top gun.

Richard,

Are you going to build a scale dirigible (USS Macon) to go with it? The XJW-1 will be a pretty plane with the colors they used back then.
