Esquire Plans Wanted
Hi:
I'm looking for a source of plans for the Esquire, a vintage 1950's model with a 50" span. I don't know who designed it but have always wanted one and I would like to build one.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

What's going on with the AMA Plans Service? I was going to get you the URL for their price list, but they are charging unbelievable prices for old plans. The Esquire would make an easy scratch build, but they want $27 for the plans!
Same thing happened when I was thinking of doing the Trainermaster for the VRCS one design contest this year--the plans were $30, so I dropped the idea. Who is going to build those old designs if the plans cost more than the wood? RCM was better to us than our own national organization--they would make the one design VRCS plans available for free.
Maybe it was the layout of the original kit plans that caused them to use a lot of paper, but I still don't see how plans for a 50 inch plane get that expensive when no royalties are involved.
The Esquire plans are also available from Bill Northrup--check out his ads in Flying Models. I'd guess his prices are better.

Thank you all for your replies. I also found that the AMA plans were really expensive! There are other plans I was also looking for:
The Livewire Series of Models:
Cruiser
Trainer
Senior
I also thank you for the reference to the kit available, however, its the plans I really am looking for.
Thanks.

RE: Esquire Plans Wanted
I have just finished an Esquire. It is a Joe Grasso kit. I hope to fly it Wednesday, if the Wyoming winds cooperate, 50 years to the day that I flew one I built in 1957. It is the same color but with transparent Ultracote instead of clear dope over silk. It has a Saito 30 instead of the K & B 15. Radio was a two tube home brew on 50 mhz.. Transmitter was a surplus ARC 5 tank transmitter. Radio now is JR but still on 50 mhz. Frank Garcher, the owner of Midwest, was there for the first flight at the Hobart Sky Hawks field.
If you are going to build one, I have the graphic arrow with Esquire that is indicated on the fuselage. Send me a PM is you would like one.
