new model
the 3 Fokkers are put aside for awhile and here is the new project. another Roy Clough one, redesigned and flown by Skipp Ruff. 1954 "Anti Grav" Martian Spaceship". may not fly , but sure will look super hanging from the ceiling. will keep me busy for a few weeks. plans available from Bill North.

RE: new model
I ran across a thread sometime back where this ship was mentioned and someone posted this color pic. Can't remember where but I saved the pic!
Oooh! Here is a link to more color pics! Looks like these are being flown and not just hung from ceilings.

RE: new model
it uses hot air from holding your breath too long. they claim that it flies, only time will tell. the size is a wee bit larger than I would like, 58"x 18.5" fuselage. will be another "What H--- is it"? at the field. dick

This link got me to the right website Dick.
http://www.psk560.com/ and further down the page is found the Martian Spaceship.
It wallowed a bit just after take off but the pilot seemed to get used to it quite quickly. I was impressed with the way it banked into the turn without apparent dihedral or ailerons.
I think it may be a very easy model to fly but maybe you have to believe in it first.

RE: new model
thanks. it gave me the needed boost to hurry up and get mine finished and at the field, then to find a pilot with steady fingers. dick

I would too! Even if the details are brief. I love seeing the pics.
I bet some LEDs and or some of that tiny rope lighting would be appropriate! I bet Mr. Clough would have if such a thing were available when he first built his!
Hmmm. Some day-glow paint spots bathed in UV (black light) LED light...?
I better shush myself as I don't have room to start something like this.
Dick, I am glad you were able to view the video. it was really cool seeing fly like that. Must be built really, really light.

RE: new model
sounds like a good idea. however I ain't a computor person and don't know how, plus theres no computor person in the immediate area to help me, another minus of country living. heres today status. 1/2 the fuselage frameing. Yes, its a monster in size, but super light in weight. dick

RE: new model
a build along sounds like a good idea, if I only knew how to to do it. anyhow the 2nd half of the fuselage glued together, now to see if match's the 1st half. then take it out and see if it will fit in the Crown Vic. sure don't want to have to build a special carrier for it, sticking out of the trunk. still havn't found a source for the carbon fiber strips, guess extra balsa strips will do the job. will keep yaaall posted. dick
