Senior Falcon to live again as SUPER FALCON
My 4-year old, 200+ flight Senior Falcon was destroyed by some idiot turning on his transmitter while I was in the middle of a low cuban-8 and my aircraft went straight in, full power. Worst part is that he denied turning on.........what's a guy to do??[]
So, I came up with a set of Senior Falcon plans and Staples enlarged them 25%. Now I am in the process of scratching out a Super Falconwith 92" wingspan, Supertigre 2300 engine. I can post build pics if anyone wants to follow along.[8D]
I have loved and enjoyed the Falcon-series aircraft since 1965 and believe that they are my all-time favorite sport designs.

R Verbael, several years ago when I had Early RC Models I drew up a 100 inch wingspan enlargement of the Sr Falcon I called the Master Falcon. Even went as far as drawing up the parts sheet for laser cutting. It was designed around the OS 120. I never had the time to build it. If you are interested I can send you the plans and the parts file for the Master Falcon. You could have your laser cutter cut the parts and get building quicker or use the parts sheet to cut the parts out. As I recall the orignal plans do not show all the bulkheads and such. I also modified the leading edge so you will not have to shape a 2x4 piece of balsa
If interested PM me your e-mail and I will ship plans. You can have them printed at you local Kinkos or such.

I just love ALL the Falcons, have you seen the "Liberty Bell"?
My Sr Falcon sits sadly on the wardrobe missing his tail feathers (hangar rash).
Will follow the Super Falcon with real interest.

RE: Senior Falcon to live again as SUPER FALCON
Here is how much I respect the Falcon series airplanes.....a buddy and I flew a pair of Falcons in an airshow a couple of years ago...his was the Junior Falcon and I had a Falcon 56. And, a couple of years ago, I was able to buy a Senior Falcon Twin. Also, I framed the box cover of my Senior Falcon that was recently destroyed by interfearance.
So that is how much I like the design and flying qualities of the Falcon. Pics tell the story. [8D]

Yep, I have a thing for the Falcon series also. Actually for several of the vintage models. Here is a picture of some of my fleet at the Mid-South Fly-in a few years back. Note a Jr Falcon, Falcon 56 and Sr Falcon. All prototypes for the Early RC Models series.

First, you have my most sincere and heartfelt condolences on the loss of your Falcon. IMHO, the Sr. Falcon is one of the best overall RC designs ever made. Mine was built in 1974 and if anything ever happened to it I'd probably quit flying. I fly her every weekend (or so close that the difference simply doesn't matter).
2 pics, one as she was in 1974 (red/white/blue), next as she is today (green/white). Yeah, she shows a bit of wear from the 3.5 DECADES of flying but she's still going strong. You might (or might not) notice that the wing was originally built a bit different from the plans - almost NO dihedral. She's a GREAT maneuvering plane.
Can't wait to see your Super Falcon. Might just do one of those too. Sounds like fun!!!!

lylec,
The Sr Falcon Plans can still be purchased directly from Carl Goldberg:
http://www.carlgoldbergproducts.com/...es/cplans.html
flyroger,
CG doesn't list the original Falcon 56 plans as being available but the manuals (no plans) for the Falcon III can be downloaded for free:

RE: Senior Falcon to live again as SUPER FALCON
looking for the airfoil section that was used on the original Falcon series. I built a MkII back in the early '80's, and I thought I remembered it being noted on the plans ( a NACA????) I know it was a sort of generic semi-symmetrical, but I'd really like to find out the actual section, as I'm thinking about utilizing it for an upcoming scratch build. That model flew GREAT!!

BOB
I was surfing around this AM looking for SENIOR FALCON info and came across your rc universe comments dated May 2009 about having plans for a 100 inch Sr. Falcon. Any chance you could still supply that?

Super Falcon coming out of LONG sleep
My Super Falcon project got put into the attic for a few (!) years but is back on the building bench and should fly in a month or so. The delay was caused by other projects and messing with my '29 roadster pickup hot rod. But, pics should warm up everyone's curiosity. Now if I can remember how to post pics, we will be able to witness a BIG Falcon being built.
